Is My Car About To Blow Up?

They have now.

Thats better but not that much better. Its like they paid a mathematician to design it.

What does it look like un-illuminated?

They just look really plain and clinical. No excitement whatsoever.

Sorry :(

Thats half the point really - flawless in terms of function. For example, the speedometer reads up to exactly the cars maximum speed and not a single digit over in my car.

I can't find a picture of the dials in your car - I take it they are full of excitement at not plain at all?

What do you want it to do :/

The dials in your civic look crud, but they are functional.

Alright touchy pants. I don't like BMW dials - deal with it :p

So what about my dials, I never even mentioned them

Bluelion is however correct - the M5/M6 ones are on a different level

P.S I like my dials :( Sure they are basic, but no-one paid over £20k for my car ;) (and they go up to 9 ;) )

Here, i'll even risk posting them up without being lit up ;)

And there is a perfect example of the quite utterly shocking levels of quality in 90's japanese interiors.

That is foul.

The BMW stuff may look outdated, but at least its quality.

Yes, they are functional. Absolutely. But then so is a 2CV.

I love this whole "you can't have an opinion on something without someone cross examining your own" thing. Its really brilliant.

I personally couldn't care less about what people think about my dials. Anyone expecting the world from a Jap interior needs their head examined :p

It's amazing how touchy some people can be. It's almost as if I insulted your mother or something.

All i'm saying is that if I paid £30k for a beemer, i'd expect better looking dials. Nothing more. I'm sorry if I upset you.

They are, IMHO, no better. They look plain, crap and dull. But, frankly, I agree the BMW ones are no better it was just odd how suddenly they made your eyes bleed when you have to stare at those ones every time you drive your car. My dials are, chrome rings excepted, identical to those in a 1989 535i and this is pretty miffing. By the time BMW reached E46 and E39 they were long overdue replacement.

Which they've now been - couldnt find one in the light hence the backlit one.

As for more than £20k new, I wish, I have the original invoice for mine - £35k inc options

See the thing is, thats not 'all' you said at all. You went off on one as if it was the most horrific thing you'd ever seen which, if you usually stare at some really awesome dials as you drive your car is perhaps understandable, but.. given you dont, It's strange to see where the OMG MY EYES BLEED cack came from.
