I've got a bit of a dilemma about 20" / 22"

I wanted the 2007WFP but can't seem to find it anywhere. OcUK is out of stock and they don't know when they're getting it in. Hopefully looking to order today so I can get it tomarrow.

Edit: Are you refering to this NEC, MultiSync® LCD20WGX2 Pro 20.1?
Yep, that's the NEC i was referring to.

The Dell screens are getting harder and harder to find. I'm thinking of getting a second one but it looks like the new models set to replace them use a TN panel, with the better quality panels only being found in the 24" screens :(

Looks like i'll be going for a 19" Widescreen. I haven't got that powerful of a graphics card, x800xl so I want games to be reasonable.

Also, i'm typing away from 1024 * 768 :( so any res bigger than that would be an improvement.

Edit: I guess I'll open a new thread for a 19" recommendation and ask to close this one as this title may confuse people.

Edit2: I've changed my mind again! I'll be upgrading in Sept with a meaty GPU, so I might want higher res gaming! :( So i'll stick with a 20".

You change your mind a lot :p

I still think the Dell or NEC are your best bets. I'm so glad i spent a bit more on the Dell. It's currently sat next to a TN panel screen and the difference in quality is astounding.

EDIT: Didn't see that post. Good man!

The NEC MultiSync® LCD20WGX2 doesn't have HDCP. I'm not too sure if I will use it but for £300 I expect a monitor of that calibre to have HDCP!

Also, doesn't Vista need HDCP?

Edit: I'm prob the moaniest OcUKer :p

My NEC MultiSync® LCD20WGX2 got delivered this morning, now I've got to sit at work while I want to be playing with my new kit:mad:

I'll let you know what I think when I get it going, I know it has some killer reviews.

The question is do you really NEED HDCP? I'm sure I've seen somebody say that you can get some kind of adapter?

I think it does support HDCP over DVI. It just doesn't have a HDMI connection.

Might be worth checking up on though.

The dell 2007WFP is back in stock! :D I might cancel my order for the NEC and go for the Dell!
You'll probably be pleased with either one, both are great screens. I think the deciding factors are cost and the glossy screen on the NEC. My monitor sits facing a window so the glossy screen was a no no.

Well, I've set it up.

Oh my god...:eek::eek:

Well worth the money.:D:D:D Going from a TN screen to this...I cant tell you how much of a difference it makes.

The screen is HHHUUUGGGEEE!!!

Oh my god! It's very very big! 1680 * 1050 is bloody huge too! Games are huge! Everything is huge!

I love it! :D

Bye bye 17" 1024*768 CRT screen! :D

Yeh i thought the very same thing when i got mine. I thought at first that they'd sent me the 24" by accident :p

As above though, which one did you go for?

I went for the NEC. I wanted to go for the dell but couldn't be bothered to return the NEC and order the Dell. Reason I wanted the dell was because it has HDCP.

But the NEC is great! I love it to bits!

Thanks for the advice everyone, especially Mark1!

*blushes*

Hey no problem, glad you got a screen you're happy with. It should be a huge step up from your CRT!
