The hybrios and Sony Cycle Energy and probably all the other "hold the charge" Rechargeables are just Sanyo Eneloops rebranded (but the non-sanyo ones don't hold their charge as long) - If they aren't rebrands, they are similar chemical make-ups.
From what I heard, Sanyo have the patent for the chemical contained in them, and have licenced it out with a shorter shelf life.
If you want a decent battery which holds it's charge, get the Eneloop. Tests have proven them to be the market leader in 'keeping' their charge. Not necessarily the highest capacity, but maybe thats not that important when most lose their charge after 2 months.
Just a note :
They are only charged to 3/4 capacity when out of packet (even though they hold their charge for 12 months) - And they only get to 100% charge after 3 charges and hold 90% of charge for 12 moths after the 3rd drain/charge cycle. Also, DO NOT fast charge them in less than 3 hours, as they are not vented, and you will shorten their expected 1000 charge expectancy if you do.
