****The official GT5 Prologue Thread****

I worked my way through most of the S class races over the last couple of nights. Still haven't been able to get on par with the cars in the 700 point races, despite trying cars including the Mine's GTR, M3 and Vette.

Is there a massive difference between the tuned cars (e.g. tuned Elise) and the standard cars? I've got an Elise 111R and even with everything max tuned, I still struggle to compete with cars of similar points.

There is a massive difference in handling, a Tuned 111R can go round a track way faster than a F430 because it can take corners much faster.

As I said before, I came 2nd in the final 700p race in a Tuned 111R purely because it handles like a dream (if setup to your liking) so I can only imagine a Tuned Viper or Corvette to be even better.

Is S-Class hopeless with pro physics and a pad?

I've been playing with a pad on pro physics with all aids off apart from small level of TC on lairy RWD cars. I am finding S-Class pretty much impossible. I guess I need a wheel?

I doubt it, pad worked fine with gt4 is it that different? If the ps3 pad is still analogue then a wheel wont make that much difference, you just need to graduate your actions more smoothly.
Dont apply full throttle out of curves or at all, with some cars like the ac cobra for example

If you find its all too much, start off by lapping deliberately slower then you know you could then allow yourself more throttle and learn where it is not appropriate to use it.
The digital version of walking the track :p

I don't think I could have completed the S class races that I have with pro-physics enabled (I use a pad). My suggestion is to turn it off to nail the races, then enable it for some more fun factor.

^^ sounds good, I always like a challenge so long as its not unfairly impossible or boring.
I dont intend to get a ps3 till the full game comes out though :/

I might miss not having triggers on the controller, I dont suppose a dc or 360 controller can be hacked into place

I'm sitting on the fence on this one - worth a purchase ?

can't realy seem to get into any of my PS3 games (Warhawk I just don't get) - vs my 360 which I play all the time

PS3 gets used as a media server all the time - is this one that will actually make me gameon it too ?

Gah. If the host quits a race because they are coming last it ruins the race for everyone. I wish they would sort that out.

Some of the people racing tuned Elise's need a slap. Their crappy lightweight car is too slow so all they do is just ram you off the track.

As much as i worry this might get peoples backs up - i do feel that GT5:P is being treated as a beta for the online mode. Personally i feel this is a good thing, it's their first outing into the online world and using our bad experiences to improve the system for the full version can only be a good thing. We can only hope problems like this will be resolved when the full release arrives.

Can anyone give me some tips for getting gold in the two 300BHP Japanese events in Class A. I've tried using an R34 GTR and a Evo IX both tuned to 560PP (max.) but always seem to finish 3rd, with the top two a few seconds ahead of me :(

I'm going to be selling mine but with the exchange rate UKP/EUR it would be too expensive for you. (Selling for 30 Yoyos)

I just can't get into it at all.

Does anyone know the BHP for the Tuned Suzuki Cappuccino?

Still stuck on that ( bugger 10 minutes to get 1:39 for gold ) race.

Don't know whether to spend the 90k for it? Also has everyone kept all their cars since the beginning or do you get rid of them as you don't need them anymore?

Wasting your time mate, you cant use the tuned car, do as you please, if you want to play online after most of them are pretty much useless if you want to play with pro physics because they are all 700 races (or so i have seen)
Wish the pro physics could be used on the slower cars, maybe stock car races etc, the game has so much potential if they just spent a few weeks sorting the online out id never be off it.
