Hi all,

I walked the whole of the GP circuit at Brands Hatch on Sunday morning and thought some of you would be interested in the photos. Watching on TV or even from the side of the track does not really give you an idea about the elevation changes and the amount of camber on the surface of the track!

Lovely track aint it, remember when I was about 10ish, we did a sponsored bike ride around donnington course, coming round after paddock hurts a 10 year old on a bike after 6 laps :D

Cor cracking pictures, how did you get on track for the morning, must have taken a good 45 mins to walk round 2.6 miles full circuit iirc? Paddock is the craziest corner. It looks timid on TV in comparison to real life. Grandstand on the bend is the best place to sit for the indy circuit!

It is quite easy to get on if there is a club race meeting on. In the morning and the evening they don't mind you walking around as most of the drivers do it to learn the track and find out about the conditions at each corner. The track access gates are just left open.

It took about an hour to get around but we were stopping to look at things enroute.

Paddock Hill bend is a fantastic corner, went to Brands last August and as most people say you really dont get a decent idea of what its like from the TV. Im also quite a fan of the short downhill stretch out of Druids into and through the left hander. The feeling of taking Paddock at some speed is amazing as you reach the bottom of the dip and then breaking into Druids. I think my stepdad crapped himself when he was taken round in this:

Paddock is a great corner, much steeper that what it looks like in the photos and when approaching at 110mph+ need to be carefull not to go in too fast as you're straight into the gravel. On my last track day someone went in much too fast in a 306 gti and rolled it in the gravel trap ending up by the 3 renault signs in the photo.

I drove Brands Indy in my VX220 and it was fantastic.
Paddock Hill Bend is awesome at speed, and the stomech churn at the bottom when the car reaches the bottom of the hill before heading up to druids.

I was there for the British Superbikes and it's a superb circuit for photography.

The acceleration and speed the bikes carry out of Druids is breath taking.

I havent been to Brands for years my dad used to take me when I was younger must be 15 years since I've been and we got to walk it a few times just for fun. I must say though the tarmac is looking a little worn out and cracked in places, doesnt look like its been done for years.
