You're the worst kind of 360 user. The kind who constantly says he won't be console gaming in 'x' months... despite the fact you've played on it consistently for 2.5 years.

I has now reached that stage in life where I need to re-prioritize!

After GTA I just want to focus on other stuff as I game too much on the 360

May I just say that Darkness is a good game?! There, back on topic now.

The PC has bugger all coming out for it so that will help quite a bit in my attempts to avoid gaming

I hope there's a more efficient way of creating darkness. Breaking lightbulbs becomes tiresome.

I want to see more of the comic storylines followed and more of the Top Cow universe basically. Especially Witchblade, mmmm!

Completed the first one a few days ago, Brilliant game somewhat let down by the ending, hope this picks up from where we left off and has a great ending to it.

+1 - average game at best, lots of flaws to iron out, then the sequel may end up a decent game.

I heard complaints at the ending, I thought it was absolutely perfect though, it brought everything together so well. It's amazing.
It's one of the few games in its genre that could go straight to movie using exactly the same plot and story.

Agree completely, can't wait for the second. I can't believe I didn't play the first one for a couple of months as I assumed it was a generic FPS. And the scrolling credits where you see it was Mike Patton as the darkness

just gone through the darkness, completley blew me away, the gameplay was a bit pants tbh but the overall design and story surpassed almost anything else ive ever played, and thats a lot of games.

Happy to hear this news although i have reservations about it as a cash in sequel.

I don't see it being a cash sequel. The first was more of a cult hit than a smash hit, it was released within 6 weeks of Bioshock IIRC and was never gonna sell millions and millions. What it has done though is gathered more praise since its release than many other games released in the last couple of years.

After reading this and some other posts on the darkness im thinking of buying the first one for the PS3 > is this a ok title for said console ?

The game is quite poor on the PS3. Apparently it got ported badly.

looking at it from an artistic point of view, backed up by a history of gaming. The game was complete, it played out just right from start to end. A sequel will have the devs going right how do we do THAT again? Answer? simple, couple of new darkness powers, tweaked engine, similar but weaker plot hitting as many of the same action/emotion/intrigue buttons. All played out in a new, yet similar envoronment.

It ALWAYS happens.

I've got the urge to play this again now but I've got Condemned 2, Persona 3, No More Heroes on the boil and still haven't finished Bioshock ! and then there's next Tuesday to consider.

You are not missing anything, I have Kameo, The Darkness and dead Rising and they have all failed to entertain.

You can pretty much link them toghether as why that is as well:

Dodgy controls
Boring gameplay.

No exploding helicopters.
