Innocent photographer or Terrorist?

It's bad enough when security guards get the law wrong but this is even worse

I am in no way "anti-police", but I did love the fact that they had to back down and walk away there. All it takes to ruin the publics trust of the whole police force is an experience with a couple of officers who think they are above you, and don't know the law.

Great video.

The problem is though, I personally don't feel that police officer is doing anything wrong, as a person. While in the role of police officer I agree it's definately not right to be making assumptions about legislation that is non-existent. However, you have to wonder, if you were a member of the public wandering down the street and you saw someone filming you from the bushes (as he was!), what would you do?

Police officers are well within their rights, as is anyone, to ask someone politely to stop filming/taking photos of them etc. It is then at the photographer's descretion as to whether they stop at this point; and in all honestly I think the decent thing would indeed be to stop. However, when you get people like this going out deliberately to harass officers and put them in a position where the line between right and wrong is somewhat shady, you are asking for trouble. The law definately needs to reinforced, but the guy with the video camera is certainly not going about it the right way.

i love the fact they just walked off without saying sorry for being utter idiots (well the bloke officer more so)

Didn't really help with the positive Police image. I was quite shocked they didn't say sorry.
have to remember they ain't all like that, I've been spoken to two times at London Stansted taking photos of planes, they take some details, look at a few of my photos, do a car and name/address check then say thanks for your time and let me get on with what im doing.

maybe because i wasn't being a bit of a **** (bum) back to em i got treated right and allowed to continue my taking pictures of planes. I treated them with respect, and was treated fairly on both instances. And being at an Airport i don't mind a bit of security.

Now having a new car I'm surprised i haven't been stopped and questioned again.

However just being in a normal public street and getting stopped for no reason by any of the officers in these videos would probably cause me to be arrested, because there attitude stinks. Once released id make a formal complaint to get any officers involved reeducated aand a apology from them.
