2.1 to amp and bookshelves

Evening all

I'm thinking about going from my current 2.1 Creative set up (L3800) to a Cambridge Audio A5 and 2 possibly Mordaunt Short 902i's. I listen to a range of music, from dance to metal, and also game with them. Would this upgrade be worth it in peoples opinions? Will I get a better sound quality?

I bought the 902i's from Richer sounds for £149.00 last week, then found them at Hifix for £109.00, sent an e-mail to RS about their "price beat" and they gave me back the £40 difference plus £10

.

Very happy with the speakers and a big thanks to RS.

Awesome, will go ahead with it then, the only thing I'm wondering about is the speakers, I'm also quite a fan of the Kef Crestas

Yeah RS should do it for me, gonna head in there when I get back from Uni and check them out. Anyone use the Kef Crestas? Peoples thoughts on them would be good

Second hand is also something to consider. I bought b&w 601 s2's new two years ago for £250, theyre now going second hand for around 100! Theyre excellent speakers and I'm only upgrading them now after all this time.

Sounds identical to my setup.

They work a treat! Just going to buy the Mordaunt Short sub to go with them and I think I'll be sorted!

Doesn't have to be expensive imo if you go second hand.

I got some Mission 761's, Marantz PM-66SE integrated amp and Denon tuner for under £90.

This is my first effort at Hi-Fi, and so far I'm loving the sound

Cambridge Audio Azur 640A + x2 Mordaunt Short 902i's. Just purchased the 309i sub tonight to go with them. hehe

Been really pleased with them for listening to music, etc from the PC.

Can't wait to get full 2.1 sound. Should be good!

Yeah was looking at that amp as well, although it is a little out of my price range. Shame, coz it does look the sex
