Champions League Semi Final *Spoilers* 22/23 April

Maybe United will win the game, the idea that they can isn't what confuses me. It's the idea or sort of nailed on fact that Barcelona won't turn up. Maybe they think it will be as easy as playing Roma, who were a truly inferior team in the last round. You beat what is put infront of you but they're not comparable to Barcelona.

The big game, Champions League theme and the brighter than usual lights on a European night brings the best out of big players, I just can't see the likes of Henry, Messi, Eto'o and Xavi shying away from the responsibility, as much as it has been suggested/setup.

I personally think that line up is as good as Utd could have done considering Vidic is out

Good to see OH in the RB berth (well Im guessing thats where he is playing) even though maybe Pique could do better centrally than Brown, maybe experience will count for more than natural ability

I dont think anyone has suggested Barca wont turn up - but the fluidity of how they play when they are "on song" just doesnt seem to be there currently

Consider the team they beat in the 1/4 final, definitely inferior to Man Utd and very probably inferior to Roma, and yet they could only manage 1-0 in both matches - yes there is an arguement for only doing enough for who is infront of you, but a 1-0 is rarely enough in a first leg so they would have been trying for more without a doubt

It could be completely different tonight and they may find 2 or 3 gears extra but usually teams in general have to be playing well for a period of time in a big game - rarely can they just "find" it , it could happen though

(I sincerely hope not though)

Only because there are no guarantees :)

If he plays up front he could destroy Barca's defence, there will be so much space for him to run in. Torres used to love playing vs Barca because of the way they defend.

On paper Barca should be pretty decent defensively; Toure sitting in front of 4 individually good players. Put a decent manager in this Barca side and they could be unstoppable for many years.

Quite happy with the formation, Owen plays pretty well at RB, although comes up a bit too often for comfort.

Would prefer to swap Park for Nani, since Park isn't really a big game player, whereas nani loves to prove himself in these big games.

Good to see Tevez along with Rooney, rather than the usual malarky of leaving Rooney alone with everyone feeding balls to him.
