Barren time ahead for wii owners.

As with every other Nintendo console I seem to only buy the tried and tested first party games I always have - probably something which has plagued all of their consoles due to the general quality difference between their own games and third party games which in turn puts off third party developers making the games.

I will never have a barren spell of games for my Wii anyway. As I own all three consoles and even more if you count the retro ones (9 in total) I barely have enough time to play one of them so it's nice that I have four first party Nintendo games ready to play when I need :)

I decided to get rid of my Wii for the PSP homebrew scene, I also have about £60 to spare after buying a £14 Pandora battery and 4Gb memory stick.

I just couldn't justify using the Wii every few weeks only, it seemed like a waste, I had some fun on it but not enough, I guess I just don't really get stuck into Nintendo games, same thing happened with my Gamecube.

Give it time. The DS had crummy third party games for ages, but that picked up and there's some great ones on there now. I'm sure the Wii will be the same.

Its coming up for two years old now, there has been a few good third party games, (Zak and Wiki for example), but really, no where near on the scale there are on the other consoles.

If by "coming up for two years old" you mean "less than 18 months old" then fair enough.

As I said, give it time. How long was it till the DS hit it's stride? Quite a while...

hi

instead of companies investing in next gen consoles/games they ought to invest in next gen gameplay. things like dmc4 same old *&%$£ . i played mariokart wii last night on 3 player mode with my 2 sons ( 9 and 3 ) and the graphics are terrible but it doesnt affect the gameplay which is habsolutely smashing

cheers

Nah, I'd hate it if Wii-mote type tech became standard on next gen consoles.

Why do you have it in for nintendo?

I dont have it in for Nintendo at all, quite the opposite in fact, if you saw my post about mario kart and the wii wheel I was very positive about it. The wii wheel ive found to be superb and really adds something to the exerience of playing the game.

The DS has the same problem as the wii, far too many mediocre games produced, with the innovative controls used to mask poor gameplay, when they work (on both) it works extremely well. Im just not a fan of things being tacked on for the sake of it.
