single person living how do you do it?

Oh i've cut my spending right down allready. Got my phone contract cancelled as of next month and i'm doing some overtime so i should be ok i hope. I just wont see the benefits for around 2 months and by then i should have my rise so i'm sure if i do need a bit more of an overdraft i'll be able to pay it off when the extra cash starts filtering through. Obviously the contract is a months notice, the overtime will take about a month as i get paid monthly and the rise is in june. Will just have to take it easy until then.

Just gonna have to put up with my gf moaning about not having money for a while lol!:p

Cool  Not trying to tell you how to suck eggs and its great if you have it in hand, but so many don't and only realise when its far too late.

That's ok:) As soon as i realised i needed an overdraft i knew i needed to sort out my cashflow. Allways vowed never to have an overdraft or a credit card so i've done pretty well so far considering i'm 24! Just hope my rise is a good one and i may be able to save a lil bit too. The joys of being on a trainees wage lol!:p

Oh and The giving up alcohol part is a nono! Need something to look forward to at the weekend lol! Just wont spend silly money on it!:D

You can't expect to live alone and have money to spare unless you have a particularly good salary. Get some housemates to share the burden, or move somewhere else.

Can you cook? We're offering half decent wages for any CDPs etc, with free accommodation fora 6 month placement.. easy to save a few grand, help you when you go back to the mainland?

or drive tractor buses? Easy job at the heliport available, again with free accom..

Living with parents :) still pay £200 a month keep and buy own stuff, that covers elec and gas, no rent as me and brother bought the house years a go out right, before pricies went nuts.

Looking around leeds for somewhere, yikes, £155,000 for a 1 bedroom flat... i dont think so! as a contractor im now use to living in hotels and parents at weekends, saves a lot of money.

She could get her own? Even pay for you if she really wants to go somewhere you can't afford?

She has her own money just finds it annoying i don't have much at the mo! She could pay for me to go places but i'm old fashioned and wont accept her giving/lending me money. I'd rather go halves on things. New year doesn't seem that long ago and were almost half way through the year so 2 months will fly by i'm sure!

The real world sucks unfortunately lol!:p

You basically can't live alone comfortably unless you're on good money. If it's a low paid job your choices are limited to; parents house\sharing with friends (or partner)\sharing with randoms or rat infested flea pit.

depends entirely where you are
i live quite comfortably in a very nice two bed flat on my own, i have a car and other "luxuries" (i dont NEED the car anymore)
I'm on far from good money, although i'm not badly paid.

It is perfectly affordable to live on your own if you go about it the right way, and you dont need to cut down on everything, just prioritise.

All that said, I'm moving into a flat with a mate in July, mostly for the location, but it will free up at least 2-300 a month which the plan is to go straight to the savings bin, but we'll see about that, but I should be living comfortably and saving

Honestly, I think I'd be able to save MORE money if I was single....Being married with a child means I have entirely too many outgoings to spend £ on....If I was single I'd get myself a nice flat and save save save!

I would love to drop everything and move out there! But do you get many administration positions come up? Also I'm asthmatic! Do you have a doc and chemist?

Sorry to hijack
