cheapest insurance i can get?

The cheapest quote I can get for my 1.1 Pug 206 is £1700 :( (18, Male, full UK, No NCB, TPFT.) Tried every possible insurance company and comparison website .

welcome to my world :).
Mine would have been £1750 if I payed in a lump sum.. But I didn't want to do that, so insted I'm having to pay monthly... and thats totaling up to £1950 for a 1.1 punto TPFT 19m :o

Try Fully comp as it can come out cheaper in some cases as young people often go for the tpft option and the fully comp can be seen as less risky.

3.2k for fully comp with the same policy that gave me 1.8k. 1.8K is my cheapest quote, not 1.6k. ******* ridiculous .

Direct Line/Bell/Flux/Quinn are normally very good.

Personally DL have been better.. my renewal this time round was £1,100 (07 1800cc Focus/1 Year NCB/1 year/FC)

How the hell can u get 1.k with a fairly new focus at 1.8? And you're fully comp. You're only a year older than me and have 1 years NCB :(.
Quinn are quoting me 2.2k for TPFT on a 1.1 2000 Pug 206! I don't know if they'll give it to me cheaper as I have had insurance with them for 4 months now under my provisional. When I pass will my current insurance become void and I take out a new policy? Or will the amount I've paid so far be taken off the cost of the new quote?

A lot of it is down to where you live; you may well be in a high risk area, FTO club uk had a doc in the stickies showing insurance grading of postcodes. NR* where I am is an A grade, meaning the safest possible.

That's not a particularly good deal, my insurance on a 530i was ~£1300 under similar circumstances :)

how can I check my area: UB8 3NL  :)

if your paying in one lump payment try bell, flexibell policys let you pick what goes on there to keep costs down

rating factors get review every 6- 12 months so its no long term solution

Yeah, you are in F, the lowest possible which explains your awful quotes.

I understand they change fairly often, but it gives a representation of where around you will be, it's not going to suddenly change from F to A for example.

I'm actually in group B for reference, so it's a tad worse than I first thought.

Become an HGV driver, my insurance has never been so cheap.

Some companies actually penalise HGV drivers for some weird reason, thankfully mine do not.:)

Ive just insured my car with www.lv.com they were nearly £200 cheaper than Elephant/Admiral and about £50 cheaper than direct line. The bonus with them is as well they arent worried about optional extras fitted from the factory where a lot of the others are and charge more for them.

I live in a very good postal code, they actually said on the quote that is was one of the best ones they had ever seen lol.

At 18 I was paying £900 a year on my 1990 Fiesta 1.6S. That was with CIS, TPFT and it even had DOC cover too.

I'm in the lowest possible insurance group? Just my rotten luck. Suppose I better stick with 1.8k as my premium, not much I can do about it I suppose.

Good for some I suppose.

Sadly insurance sucks.. I paid close to 2k at one point for my old Daewoo when I first passed..

I'm too young for Swiftcover, when entering my DOB:

Swiftcover said:
Sorry. Your main driver is too young for us to cover this car.

Now I know why most of my friends are named drivers on their cars, illegal it may be but it's so tempting :(. I don't know how people can expect an 18 year old on a part time job to afford £180 a month!
