Just been reading up on Samsung motors. Interesting that its based on a Nissan despite being 70% owned by Renault.

Personally, I think the original looks better.

Flippin' 'eck, doesn't anyone actually read these threads before bashing out a reply?

IT'S BUILT UNDER LICENCE, THEY PAY TO "GET AWAY WITH IT"

Too damn right!

I hate people who **** off these "pictures of rusty volkswagens" threads without even bothering to read them!!

ah sweet XG30 !

my dad has an XG30, lovely car goes through lots of fuel though :(

I saw pics of an XG painted white with tints and nice stainless exhausts, and it looked class.

of course it isn't a BMW though so probs doesn't count

No, it doesn't count becuase it's a frankly terrible car, not for any other reason. Where does all this 'If it isnt a BMW it sucks' crap come from?

Your Dads Hyundai is able to suck hard on its own, it doesn't need the fact it isn't a BMW to acheive epic levels of poor.

Enlighten me on why you think it is frankly terrible. give me something mildly constructive at least. Given the fact that XG's aren't exactly common over here, I doubt many people have either seen one never mind been inside one or driven one. I could be wrong though.

BMW thing was just a joke...

Hyundai have, in the past, not generally made good cars. Infact, not content with not making good cars, they had to go one better and made cars so bad you kinda got the impression they'd got 'must be crap' on the design spec.

This is beginning to change now and their latest models are actually half decent - the i30 is by all accounts a good average family hatch.

The XG30 predates this. So, what you get is a car which is built from the sort of plastics you'd normally only come into contact with if you bought something like a packet of Mr Kiplings Cakes or a Peugeot 206. This is fine in a cheap town car. But the XG30 is not a cheap towncar, it's their flagship luxury saloon. So, not off to a good start. This crap selection of plastics helps to make the already frankly awful interior make the grade to 'properly terrible'. And in a luxury saloon, getting the interior is important.

So we move on to an exterior with panel gaps so big you can put your arm through them, no real sense of styling whatsoever and the sort of cornering thats... well.... we wont even go there.

So, yes, the XG30 - Korean for *****. What sort of person actually buys an XG30? Why would you do it?

They are not even that cheap - a 6-7 year old example will cost you about 3 grand still.

It looks like a cheap Lincoln. And you wouldnt even want something that looked like an expensive Lincoln!

Did you know the XG30 is SO bad that Hyundai wont let the press have demonstrators?
