I'm looking for a cheap family holiday in the lakes (preferably south)

Static caravan would be ideal, can anyone recommend a decent family site? Entertainment not required but if it's there so be it.

Odd request I know but without going to check them out it's tricky to judge.

Any advice appreciated!

Cheers:)

There is a site called LakeLand Leisure in GrangeOver sands, which is southern lakes.

Apparantly it's a haven site, although I didn't know this until after the 3rd time i'd been. Typical tourers and statics.

Quite a big site... tennis courts/football/slots/entertainment for kids/pool/golf, etc etc

About a 20 minute drive to Windermere/Kendal/Coniston.

A friend of mine has a static in Skelwith Fold, which is just out of Ambleside. Stayed there with her a few times, and it's a lovely place - but then having just read the reply above.. if you're after a family holiday kinda thing then LakeLand Leisure does sound more suitable! Kids would probably get bored at Skelwith Fold!
