iPhone and iTunes Issue

I have the latest iTunes installed on my PC and when i connect my iPhone is recognises it etc. So o create a new playlist in iTunes and add my music to it. Then click the songs tab in the iPhone menu, then select the playlist I want to add. But when i look back at my iPhone it has deleted all my previous music from the phone

What am I doing wrong?

If your doing it like that you need to make playlists for all the music you want on your iPhone i think.

Manage it all manually.

What's the alternative?

You can select to manage your music manually and drag your music across. You mite be able to drag playlists over too, you will have to try it.

I have not got my usb cable with me so i can't check.

Edit: Meh beaten to it ^^
