I can't remember the exact line, thus my random googling isn't proving to work out well :(

I think it might of been da vinci, but I am not sure :/

Yeah- I think thats right :)

I couldn't remember the quote exactly because it was years and years ago I heard it in passing, for some reason I just thought of it now :D
 
Being a massive Poe fan myself, I'd have to say it was the great man himself who came out with that quote. It just sounds like something he'd say, then again it might even have been Bram Stoker or even Arthur Conan Doyle.
