the cars on saints row handled like the 'skateboard physics' vehicles on tony hawk pro skater 4

definatly NOT better than gta

gta is supposed to be easy to pick up
the controls reflect the diffent styles of driving and foot based combat well imo

*edit - this is not a fanboy type comment - just my opinion compared to similar "like GTA but..." type games i have played

All of my points (with the exception of controls and driving) were about GTA in general.

As for the controls, it is based on the countless reviews/previews I have read saying that they are improved.
As for the driving, again, from previews and game play videos I have seen you can tell the cars handle very differently. I have no first hand experience of this though.
 
I must admit ive never been to keen on the games myself, although i had no problems with the driving, it was the sloppy combat mechanics that spoilt it for me, as this apparently has been vastly reworked and refind, i am going to give it a bash.
 
Like all things, you will probably play it and think "this is exactly the same". If you went back you would be more likely to notice the differences, i find it amazing when someone posts shots of GTA or Vice City, as i remember in my head them looking amazing, but how blocky they look now.

Same for me, tageting and shooting the right object/ person drove me to distraction.

Tho I got bored with the later incarnations on the PS2, I think this will be a big enough difference, step forward to give it another look.

Besides, if I dont get on with it I have a few days before stocks will be back in to get my money back lol.

Woah, is this your opinion, or do you have stuff to back this up with? Personally I find the driving controls on the 3D GTA's to be better than any other driving game I've ever played.

The shooting controls on the other hand...well, I won't go there. :p
 
Must say I've always found driving in GTA games easy to get the hang of and brilliant fun. Certainly it shouldn't be a problem to someone who plays Forza.

And the award of 'drama statement of the year' goes to...

The controls are fine once you get used to them - and that only applies to people who are new to the game.

I completed Saints Row and GTA is much better and easier to use.
 
Why force yourself to like it? Theres plenty of other games out there...

The appeal for me is the freedom of it, being able to do whatever you want, whenever you want. Its one of those games you could just pick up and have a quick go on or spend hours on it

Im sorry but no-one in their right mind would think that GTA's control are better than Saints Rows. Saints Row introduced proper aiming while firing from a car (something which GTA4 has now incorporated) and a proper aiming system (something which i hope GTA4 has now incorporated)

Depends what you grow up (game wise) and learn to use.

I had an Xbox 360 a while back and enjoyed the controller on it, was pretty good at Call of Duty and stuff.

Went back to a PS3 a few months ago and the PS3 controller feels so much more natural and better because of that. In my opinion of course.

Driving wasn't hard in CrackDown but the camera angle sure sucked some.

GTA driving is easy - mostly. I'll be getting GTA IV when I get back from my holiday for the reasons stated by ScarySquirrel - I love the GTA games, especially the humour!

no one one can help you 'like' something either you like it or you dont, you seem the type of person that likes to be led in games i.e. COD4 and gta is the opposite, its about personal choice.
