Went for a bikeright last night and saw a pair of canada geese with their goslings, and made a mental note of it.
Tonight the light was georgeous so I tried for a few shots, used up quite a bit of bread and had to keep fending off megagoose who was intent on sticking its neck down the front element of my lens until I fed him off and was able to concentrate on the little ones :)
Then a pair of teenage 15 year old chav jailbait girls appeared and started giving me loads of **** apparently they've named all the geese, as they're down here regular getting hammered on pillz n stuff... Somehow I managed to avoid the urge to punch them in the ovaries and returned with a few shots..

Kit used:
300mm 2.8
MkIII
2 loafs of bread
something to sit on.

C&C welcome as always..

lol :D

I love the first shot. It captures their little waddle perfectly :)

Just out of curiosity, what did you take to sit on? I've been wondering about getting one of those little fold up camping chairs that are about 10" off the floor.

lol :)

I just sit on the grass normally if its dry.. however it was a bit wet so I sat on my jacket, although most of the time I lie down flat for these kinds of shots but megagoose and jailbait were giving me too many problems so I opted to sit.

Just wondering, as I really don't fancy lying on wet ground, or wrecking my clothes :D I suppose the best option is having a ground sheet with you if you plan on lying in the muck :p

The sidelighting is perfect, wonderfull job.

The first one looks like shes waddling with a real purpose, and I love the second one too.

Lovely shots with perfect lighting. One thing though, dont feed them bread as its not good for them, duck pellet thingys from pet shops are much better.

Never knew that... just looked it up - you learn something new every day..

I actually can't stop looking at the first one :) I think it's awesome. The lighting, the subject, everything! :D

May I have a high res version of 1 and 3 please? :)

1280 x 1024 please :) OR 1280 by whatever so they don't stretch! :)
