R.I.P Chairman Humph...

very sad, isihac has been part of my growing up and along with the other radio 4 comedy has helped forge my sense of humour.

i saw him what feels like a couple of months but may have been closer to a year ago, performing on the giants of jazz tour, and he looked very old and frail, but was 100% on the microphone.

'Celeb' passings don't normally register on my conscious but this is really sad. I am absolutely gutted :(

So as the cricket ball of destiny strikes the box of fate and the embrocation of hope is applied to the nuts of infinity, it's time to say goodbye.

RIP Humphry.

I didn't really register that he was a jaz musician, but he was one of the funniest guys on the radio without being rude/coarse, and I'll really miss hearing him on ISIHAC.

A sad loss, I hope they don't retire Samantha as she seams a great sport :)

ISIHAC was a program that the whole family could listen to as it had something for everyone. The number of times that we have sat on a driveway or waited outside a shop as the show had not finished and we didn't want to miss a moment of it.

A great man who will be missed by all. RIP

Just found this on Wikipedia... It made me LOL.

On Tuesday 22nd April 2008 Humph and the gang from "I'm Sorry I Haven't a Clue" were due to appear in a recording of the programme at the Pavilion Theatre in Bournemouth. Due to Humph's indisposition his place was taken by Rob Brydon but a pre-recorded message from Humph was played to the audience ("I'm sorry I can't be with you today as I am in hospital - I wish I'd thought of this sooner!"). His voice sounded strong and his message was as witty as ever.

First listened to ISIHAC on BBC4 LW when I was living in Paris in the mide 80s in my early 20s.

It reminded me of the UK and just summed up the very british silliness that the whole team did so well.

I hope they stop the R4 program, I remember being hit when Willie Rushton died, but Humph was so central it really should stopped as a mark of recognition.
