2008 Spanish GP - Race 4/18

I think I would rather be Hamilton (if he has 5+ laps more fuel than Alonso) than Alonso. Hamilton with a lighter car for those 5 laps and if he gets a bit of clear air will make up 2 - 3 secs a lap over Alonso with the heavier car after pitting. Then pitting later he *may* come out in front of him. Kimi has done this a few times and Schumi did it quite often. Running longer is always the winner.

I think the main difference with Schumi compared to Kimi is that Schumi managed to hold back a bit before the pitstops, then as soon as he had to throw in a few extremely quick laps, he managed to consistently and made up the time lost in carrying the extra fuel.

It seemed to be what set him apart from everyone else at that time, Alonso and Kimi have shown flashes of this but havent managed to do it consistently

will be an intresting first few laps - my prediction is massa will take alonso on the first corner and kubica overtaking him shortly afterwards which leaves hamilton vs alonso. theres no doubt the macmerc is faster but the question is will hamiton get the satisfaction of overtaking his old teammate before alonso pits

There was no way that Alonso or McLaren could have got on for another season. Ron wasn't even talking to Alonso at the end of the season. Had Alonso not threated to tell the FIA about the 'evidence' and had he not demanded number 1 status then i'm sure he would still be there. Had McLaren given into his demands, last season would have seen him world champion again and McLaren likewise. But it didn't happen and Alonso and McLaren could not continue together.

Where si the Porsche Supercup?! Eurosport have just shown some Williams F1 docu type thing instead of the scheduled race?! Anyone know when it should start?

Despite there still being at least 5 weeks until the FIA EGM things don't seem to be going quiet with Alleged-Nazi-Themed-Sadomasochistic-Sex-With-Five-Prostitutes-Gate. According to the BBC Bernie is trying to rally the F1 teams into asking, en mass, for Max's resignation.

To say this is a blow to Max is an understatement of mammoth proportions since he and Bernie have been an omnipresent double act at the head of F1's expansion and professionalisation since Max ousted Jean Marie Balestre in the 1980s.

I think its because Bernie has the vote for the teams (techincally) so he wants to know which way he is voting before he goes to the meeting.

Nice segment that but they seem to have found possibly the only ugly 250F in existence :( One of the earlier ones, like the one Clarkson drove on TG would have been far nicer.
