Do you tip pizza/chinese/Indian delivery drivers?

Not usually, which is a bid weird I guess because I use to work as a waiter and pretty much lived off my tips.

ok guys, here is a tip if you excuse the pun.

In resturants, tip BEFORE your meal, if im going to a decent place, where the bill will go to more than 100. Slip your waiter 10 or 20 quid as your being shown you seat this will

a) ensure you get fantastic service all night

b) you get to do that cool folded note in the palm of the hand thing.

I do this and it has not let me down yet,

No, they're getting paid to deliver. I also have to pay for delivery. I only ever tip in exceptional circumstances.

I always tip the indian guy a pound or two, always arrives promptly and the food is never a let down. Whenever I order a pizza though it always takes at least 40 minutes and the food is usually below par, so they get no tip from me.

No I never tip takeaway drivers - don't see the point. I don't live in the USA for a start so it's not part of their salary. I pay for exemplary service, and attentive/pro-active staff, not just for the sake of it. Besides most takeaways are hideously expensive - and I cook better than most

I tip - the delivery drivers I've known have all had to shell out for their own petrol. They get paid a pittence and petrol ain't cheap. Plus, it means I can sit on my arse and do nothing for a little while longer AND eat awesome food.

Depends if they're quick.
If they aren't I usually say "**** the change it took long enough to get here" and slam the door in their face.

one time it cost £14.80 and i gave him £15 and told him to keep the change, felt really cheap. but he seemed greafull.

Always, if theres not much left to a rounded note, I add a bit more;

example;
If a couple of pizzas come to £19.80 I'll give £21 or something.

So usually about £1 or so on top of the charge.

good minds think alike! i was out with my mate doing deliverys for dominos and he was sayin he makes a fair bit of cash in tips. which got me thinking... i dont tip the drivers, never have.
