Folding@Home Weekly Team News - 24th April 2008

The OEM Q9450's are available in decent quantities in the UK atm, tho they're selling pretty fast. The price has fallen a fair whack too, tho it's rising again as they start to sell out.

Still look to be twice the price of the Q6600 - well, at OcUK anyway :(

Well yeah they're still at ~£250 most places, but that's better than the £300 they were earlier this week.

wow, didnt expect to come home today and see 700 points solely today!

Bit of a shock haha

Hmmmmm I must admit I've only had limited success with flags over the years 'set and forget' makes for an easier life :D - stick with it anyway - at least your not getting EUE like some and there's a scientist somewhere waiting for your results.

The advanced bit is the one you setup initially isn't it? I'm confused coz I've set that up since using Linux SMP and have only got 2605s.

LinuxSMP via VMWare has always got a shed-load of 2605s. Maybe something to do with the clients only reporting two cores per VM.

Ah fair enough. I guess most people that are reporting these other ones are using the Win SMP client.

Works for me, these are nice WUs :)
