Well that was an alright race, glad to see Mclaren and BMW are not that far behind Ferrari, though u can thank the safety car for some parts.

Well done the Button and hes my driver of the day, unlike ITV.

It's the same every year this track always has one of the dullest races in a season.

If the FIA & Bernie were really interested in the Racing they would dump this track from the calendar but they're more interested in corporate hospitality facilities for schmoozing the sponsors in thats why they seem intent on getting Silverstone off the calendar.

They dont need to dump the track, they just need to remove all race circuits from testing. Only allow testing at non championship tracks.

The fact they all know this place like the back of their hand doesnt change the fact that overtaing is impossible. Its the tracks fault, not how many laps they have done (it annoyed me when the ITV covereage kept labouring that point as the reason).

Looks like the heavier fuel stratergy for quali that I predicted worked better for Hamilton and Kubica over Alonso :p

We cant really say as Alonso didnt finish the race - he only finished half the race. Alonso was heavily fueled, so as everybody else pitted, he wouldve eventually moved into a leading position.

Clanger of the day award goes to Toyota!

During lap 53 they decided to bring Trulli in for some reason despite running in sixth place with no issues. Glock then decided to bash Coulthard up the backside resulting in his front wing hanging off... The Toyota engineers mistook Glock for Trulli and called him in to the pits. Trulli obeyed and then lost two places. Top work!

Aye, like McLaren last year, why do teams always seem to make silly mistakes when they start doing well?

I'm not so sure, he was running in six/fifth and losing a second a lap for the six laps he ran after the safety car and I'm not convinced that he would have had run much beyond where the top 4 pitted (47/48). Even if he had run to 50 or even 52 he didn't have the pace to make up the gap lost in those 6 laps, let alone anything else he might have lost.

After the first pit stops Alonso was a net 5th, Kubica net 4th and Hamilton net 3rd. Hamilton went 5 laps more than Alonso and jumped him by about 7 seconds after his stop.

That is why I'm glad Honda took on Ross Brawn. No more **** ups.
