petrol prices

i drive 60 miles round trip to work each day.. usually go somewhere on the weekend that needs a car ... thats a full tank a week... now costs me about £50+ a week to fill up... price of the local shell which is still the cheapest is now 107.9... last couple of months has seen it skyrocket as it used to be a fair bit cheaper than everyone else

£106.9 in the Sainsburys I fill up at. Not toooo bad, but as I struggle to get close to 30mpg its not exactly great!

20p tax and 50p fuel duty, time for people to use vegetable oil.

It's got too popular, the price of veg has gone through the roof of late too. :(

It's getting to the point where it might not be worth the wife getting a mechanical diesel and going for a HDI next time :(

malc, if you can find a really long rubber tube, and don't mind putting some petrol my way, i'd appreciate it

i'll attach a network cable to it, and send porn back each time i get a litre

With the profits BP and Shell have just announced I hope they get slated by the media just as much as British Gas did.

Probably wont as long as its a gradual increase in costs, if it instantly jumped to £5/L then arguing would break out

Although its a gradual increase in costs its certainly been more frequent lately, months back i remember when we could go weeks even a month or so without seeing an increace in price, now it seems that the price is going up every week.

I saw 110.9 in my local station.

Funny how Americans cry when it goes over like $1.50. They should move here and see! They'll probably shoot themselves if they needed to pay our prices.
We're at $3.69 / US gallon here in Detroit. If my maths are correct, that comes to about 49p / litre. Yeah, you're right: we've been crying for awhile but I didn't realise it was that bad elsewhere.

:D Just had a phone call from my mate.
Malc get your containers there's another Numpty :p
Another 65litres to collect/drain in the morning. I am the Hinckley Petrol Baron :p

hmmmm shell and BP record record profits I wonder why, its robbery and im sure they are in some sort of scam with gordon brown to shaft us all on fuel

The price difference between Diesel and Petrol is just getting worse. Makes me wonder whether I should actually bother getting another diesel car in 6 months time. The difference will probably be something stupid like 13p between the two!

Thats probably what the governments hoping for. They can't do much about the car prices so they put up petrol prices by insane amounts to get everyone to become more eco friendly.

They aren't responsible for the high petrol prices. 60% of what you pay goes to the government.

Just 3p overnight in Parkhead, Glasgow this week from 106.9 to 109.9 for unleaded.

Highest I've seen was north of dumblane - 122.9 for unleaded.

"Not toooo bad"? It's obscene!

I'm in the same boat as many others, perhaps worse than most - I have a 60 mile drive to work and 60 mile drive home again, these fuel prices are crippling me.

Public transport isn't an option at £27 for a return ticket and a three hour journey time by train, I have no alternative but to bend over and take it :(

I meant in relation to people who are saying they are looking at petrol in the 122.9 sort of area!
