petrol prices

I just realised.

It costs me $53 to fill up my tank with 16 gallons.

in england it would cost me: $116.60

I dont think I could afford my car........

It's got to stabilize soon, I can't see petrol going above 110p in the supermarkets for long.

the thing about america is that there isnt that much tax on it so when oil increases in price ($25 a barrel 2002, $117ish 2008) the price is hit much harder, yet we pay much more tax so the increases (although large) are shielded slightly, imagine petrol prices going from 70p per litre to £2 in a few years for the kind of situation they have, as well as them being much more reliant on cars as everything is so spaced out, and that there cars are much less efficient.

Thats because you didn't take into account purchasing power parity. In the uk you earn more so your not paying 2x as much compared to an american. You can't use the exchange rate to compare prices accross different countries. ;)

It's going to go up by around 5p over the coming month, but will slip back down a bit after that. At least, so my dad recons (he works for Ineos)

Anyway, lowest price around here is 110.9 at the moment for unleaded, with most places at 112.9 and 116.9 as the highest. Still only costs me £35 to fill up :)

I know i do a lot of mileage
But iam earning £3000 less this year than I was this time in 2006 as a result of the price increase. but the nice tax man hasn't raised the 40p per mile/25p per mile self employed allowance.

Its Not fkin on

dont worry guys it will never stop rising till it eventually we will kill for it then it will run out and we all die lol :D
