Hi I am looking to buy a new case, and possibly going for water cooling I want both to provide as little noise as possible

I was looking at the Antec P185 or 190 any other considerations? links :-)

Water cooling for

CPU
Intel Core 2 Quad Extreme QX9775

Graphix
XFX 9800GX2 Exclusive BLACK Edition

Memory

8GB (4x2GB) CorsairTwinX XMS3, DDR3 PC3-12800

anyone know of a desent water cooling system that's nice n queit ?

Not planing to O.C hoping it will be fast enough :D

Aand i would get the p190 over the p182 for the size really......load's of space inside the p190 and im sure the p182 is a bit cramped when it come's to watercooling.

Since you're clearly not restricted by budget, i'd reccomend the Lian Li PC-G70. It's discontinued now but you can still find them for around £170.

The TJ07/9 will also be roomy. As suggested though, stick to air if you're not clocking.

So why do you want to water cool it?

I have always been on air, a friend of mine said he switched to water as it was much quieter I have seen some water coolers like the Zalman that are totaly silent as the use no fans at all. ;)

I was thinking of the P190 as it is supposed to be so roomy not that fused on getting two PSU with it mind ( can any PSU's be used ) or are the made to work together ?

thanks

M

you can use any power supply in the p190 but the 2 that are in there are very good anyway.and as for the room......check my post's out and im sure there is a picture of mine in there......found a picture for you m8....check this out and let me know what you think http://i106.photobucket.com/albums/m248/lostsoldier3177/P2110168.jpg

Yeah, water can be quiet, but if that is the only reason you wish to change to water, i recommend staying with air.

Get some crazy sized heatsinks with very quiet fans on them (something along the lines of noctua fans) They are completely inaudible, and if you ever need to swap parts out for testing or upgrades, it'll make your life a hell of a lot easier!

I guess there is always a 'bling' factor when it comes to water though, but for a decent system, the cost does go up rather a lot.

Although, if you are definately not clocking (which, with the proposed kit, it would be criminal not to!) Then you don't have to get the best parts. All you would need to cool to make the system silent, is the cpu and the gfx card. A nice quiet d-tek pump would suffice @ stock, depending on the case used, then a PA120.3 (or even a different 120.3) should also suffice with some quiet fans. Everyone will say d-tek fuzion or EK supreme for the cpu block, but these are probably overkill if you are not clocking, and something cheaper may well do the job just as well. As for gfx blocks, well, there isn't really much choice for a GX2 yet. EK full cover block i guess, doubt there are any core only blocks available for a card shaped in the way the GX2 is... ;)

^^^ enjoy

So what happens if you're watercooling system breaks all over your £1000 Q9775?

Obviously there's a risk with watercooling, but that's because most people use W/C on cheaper components and then justify it by overclocking.

All your doing is creating a load of un-necessary risk over a bit of noise.

use feser1 its non conductive

Ok So I would be looking at getting

D-Tek DB-1 (DD-CPX1) 12VDC Pump

or
Laing DDC 1-T Pro 10W 12 VDC Pump

or
Zalman Reserator1 v2 Fanless Water Cooling System

2x
Zalman ZM-GWB3 Water Cooling VGA Block for Zalman RESERATOR1 & 2 (7900 compat)

Zalman ZM-WB5 Water Cooling CPU Block

Northbridge Water Block(ZM-NWB1) and 2 VGA RAM Water Block (ZM-RWB1)

Any sugestions and lets say I will be O.C QX9650 3Ghz to 4.5Ghz so will need to be as cool and quiet as possible

thanks

As for parts

Thermochill PA120.3
Ek supreme cpu block or Dtek Fuzion version 2
D5 vario pump
Reservoir of your choice, tubing, jubilee clips etc
If you want to cool your Gcard then EK FC9800 GX2 block

Watercooling isn't likely to go wrong if you put it together with thought and make sure all the barbs are tight and tubing is sealed. Do a leak test. Not a problem.

I've had my current loop for months. Its been knocked about, taken back and forth from uni, been to LANpartys. Solid as a rock.

Yeah, fair enough, I understand that.

But the processor sitting underneath your CPU block didn't cost £1000 did it?

I don't think the OP should be building his (first?) watercooling system with a CPU that costs that much.

Bound to end in tears.

Watercooling still holds risk, just whether or not that risk is in proportion with the amount of money you spent.

Just my opinion.

These compontents are designed to be overclocked, particularly the RAM and CPU. This is like buying a Ferrari with a 70mph limiter on it! If you are not going to overclock, then there is little point in going with DDR3 - much less at that speed. You are going to be throwing away something like £500-£900 this way.
Seriously - if you can be bothered to install a water cooling kit, you should be looking to overclock this CPU at 4Ghz without any trouble at all.

PS. What monitor/screen are you going to run this on?
