Man utd had about 20 good minutes out of both legs it was one way traffic that's why you were all biting you're nails.
every time messi got the ball he looked like he could score or make an assist he ran rings around utd and zambrotta had ronaldo in his pocket all night.

We made plenty of defensive errors that could have cost us a goal, but they didnt didnt and thats the difference you see

Fact of the matter is after 2 games 1 goal settled it, ours.

Slick pass all you want if you dont score it means **** all :)
 
I'm not flaming I am just being honest as a neutral.
As far as Im aware utd made about 5 good chances over 2 games to barcas 20-30 chances.

Man Utd again didnt play well with two key players out and a half decent performance, we were professional and did what needed to be done, role on west ham, wigan then Moscow !!!

Ps over the two legs i would say we edged it on sheer want to win, barce did little to nothing when they actually had the ball.

Some truth in that, but i never really felt that barca were going to score. UTD weren't great in possession but they didn't need to create anything as Barca gifted them a goal which was no surprise.
 
"Gifted" us a goal is a tad overkill, he cleared the ball away from Ronaldo and Scholes picked it up 30 yards out. Hardly on a plate.

And for all their slick passing and possesion, Barca were limited to shooting from outside the box under pressure from defenders, thats why they only had 3 shots on target all game, and only one of them really tested VdS.
 
Well done united wes brown for the MOTM he was brilliant really feel sorry for Messi his team did not believe that they were going to get a goal. I hope we go through 2morroz it will be the best or the worst final ever then.

Dipped a little toward the end of the first half, but for the rest it was incredible, definetly one of the best atmospheres I've witnessed, my legs are aching, the my ears are ringing, and my throats burning, loved it :D

Got my part of the big mosaic thing from before kick off too :D

Dunno what C64 was watching. Barcelona's passing was appalling a lot of the time.
For a team that's so bad it's odd that everyone discussing Man of the Match is talking about our players, notably Tevez who is our striker.

Barcelona didn't look like scoring, Messi was handled perfectly, he's very skillful, but doesn't have the power to push past our players head on, so we shepherded him into the middle at most opportunities, yes he got one good shot off, but it wasn't good enough.

As for Zambrotta having Ronaldo? Not sure if I agree, our ball came from Ronaldo and Ronaldo's pressure, a lot of Zambrotta's play involved fouling Ronaldo, it's where we got most our free-kicks, I can remember Zambrotta only making 1 truly top class tackle.

Let us not forget, we should have had another Penalty courtesy of Milito, but as per usual, Man Utd don't get a penalty.

Ronaldo had lost the ball, Zambrotta was in full control of the ball and decided to pass the ball into space straight in front of his own goal- one of the cardinal sins of defending! This was at a time when Barca were getting on top and getting some momentum. So yes it was a gift, but that is Barca for you.
 
I must admit, I've only read the first 5 pages of this thread, but some of the pre match attitude in here from Utd fans is very disappointing. I thought they played very well tonight, kept a higher line, pushed for everything and got a result.

I'll admit that I was feeling pretty low when I first saw the lineup, but I stopped and thought for a second, and realised there was still more than enough quality to get a result from this game. Believe ;)

And hey, I watched it in a pub full of Spaniards. I made a swift exit on the way out, but there were some priceless looks after 90 minutes :D
 
Well played United, getting through stoically, but you have to say over 180 minutes wtf did C Ronaldo do? he went missing imho, like he did in last years semi final games against AC Milan, best player in the world...hmm?!
