you will find most people will acknowledge he deserved that, its usually the utd fans that have problems admitting to players greatness who are not part of their own team, utd fans i know all **** gerrard and torres off, and we all know fine well they would walk into utd's starting 11, and iv seen a few **** off gerrards belters when he does deserve them.
Solid performance by utd, nothing special, nothing pretty, deserved place in the final.
Hoping for an all red affair, wouldnt mind another crack at you's after that last meet.
Scored against Liverpool. Scored against Arsenal. Scored against Sporting. Scored against Roma. Scored against Everton. Scored against Portsmouth. Scored against Villa.
So that's all the best teams we've played in Europe this season bar Barcelona and all of the top 6 sides (we don't count) bar Chelsea.
Games of magnitude? We don't think like Liverpool buddy, there are 38 games in a season and all are of magnitude. So no, he doesn't disappear.
I always thought you were a Manc Dan?keep your mascherano, no way i could live with breaking up 'the best central midfield in the world'
Roma. 7-1. 2 Goals.Nokkon you're going to be having this arguement until Ronaldo literally puts in a great performance in a massive game.
I'd add Mascherano and Reina to players that would get into Utd's line-up and take off Tevez from players that would get into ours (if you're saying both he and Rooney would get in). Also Benitez has beaten Utd before.
We won the title last season despite being panned for our strength in depth. We didn't have any last year.Really, Im fairly sure that your games are prioritised like our, its just not as noticable with your squad due to the size and strength in depth compared to ours.
Don't understand what you're getting at?peetee said:Just because its the big teams doesn't mean its a big game.
Same Brown that's a potential Man of the Match against Barcelona and England right-back? You say it like a negative...peetee said:Even brown scored against us.
How about Fulham last year when he scored by taking the ball from our own half when they were piling pressure on. We won the league from that goal as it turned the corner and was incredibly important.peetee said:He shys away from play sometimes when utd really need him to step up and do something magical, he doesnt seem to do it when utd are on the backfoot, thats my point. Im sure this will go as he matures but from watching him I see that as his only real flaw currently.
The greatest players in history have missed penalties. Jeez.peetee said:He didnt play bad today, but he was a shadow of his usual self, he also flopped with his crucial penalty in the first leg..and didnt score
He's a winger, not a goal scorer. People do seem to get the 2 confused as he's so good at it. He also only played ~25 minutes against Chelsea at the weekend.peetee said:didnt score against chelsea as you said.
He's a winger, not a goal scorer. There were 10 other players in that match. We hit the woodwork and had shots cleared off the line. We also had a stonewaller turned down. Trying to pin it on Ronaldo who was absolutely battered in that game is ridiculous.peetee said:Didnt score in the FA cup against pompey.. you went out as a result of losing that tie - big game.
He didn't score so it was a bad performance? Great way to judge a player... especially when you didn't even watch it? It's getting hard to take you seriously.peetee said:I didnt watch the blackburn game.. did he play in that? because i know he wasnt on the scoresheet.
Suspended for 'headbutting' a Portsmouth player.peetee said:Theres a few at the start of the season obviously points dropped vs reading man city and pompey but if i remember correctly he was injured?
Because Liverpool haven't spent HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS on players...peetee said:You said 38games in a season, so obviously just the league, well theres also cups too which matter a lot aswell, lets face that fact, not so much for utd due to financial muscle
And that's whose fault? We all start on zero points.peetee said:liverpool need to prioritise champs league to an extent though, especially when we cant really chase in the league due to falling too far behind
Ronaldo didn't play against Coventry. Our most senior player was John O'Shea.peetee said:lets remember rafa probably would have had the sack, and we bought masch due to the fact we had secured more champions league income by progressing.. anyway.. ronaldo didnt score against coventry![]()
Roma. 7-1. 2 Goals.
We're still having it a year after he has. He was also great in a game a couple of years ago against Arsenal where he bagged 2 as was he last year when we beat Liverpool 3-0 at Old Trafford.
Ronaldo usually does put in very good performances against the so called big sides. The difference is, people want to judge him on goals when his jobs a winger primarily and it's a role he plays more against the big sides.
Not for the first time
Suprised it was Masch that converted you though, it's usually Torres, just ask Pigeon![]()
He scored against AC Milan last year and was our best player in the second leg. People forget that so quickly.
Against Barcelona he was our best runner in the first half of the last game and the best runner in the 90 mins of the second.
People say he has a bad game when he doesn't score (which is outrageous anyway) and he was deployed as a striker, a role he doesn't excel in, but what he did do was take a LOT of pressure off the defence by running with it and allowing the defence to pull out, which was clearly the task at hand that he was given.
Ronaldo doesn't get the credit he deserves outside of scoring goals or his dribbles, the pressure he takes off the team is incredible, and that's the thing that doesn't get captured on TV. Sit in the stadium and watch it though and you see just how well he does do that against these sides.
If you're doubting his best player credentials then there is something completely mental with you.[/QUOTE
Ronaldo was a strutting prima donna!, all hands waving, gesticulating to team mates officials and the like about all manner of perceived grievances instead of showing some balls like Tevez and closing players down and holding the ball up... he just did nothing!
You must think this guys dumps come out smelling like roses or something, he's ok terrorising the premiership minions but against the continental cream he's been found wanting. Rooney was more effective against Milan last year with his two goals allied to his work ethic; Tevez tonight was man of the match and he's arguably scored more vital gaols this season in Europe and the league than Ronaldo. Ronaldo has got a long way to go to be placed among the pantheons of the greats, if he delivers in the final then maybe he'll begin to be heralded as a great but not yet, not yet.
it's you and your silver tongue.
oh and let's settle the debate once and for all. it's Gerrard, Masch and Alonso.![]()
I agree![]()
