OcUK Photo Comp - Season Seven : Roundv Three - "Intricate" DISCUSSION

I still dont have internet at home - thanks to BT! was wanting to change my entry as dont feel it does the theme any justice.
 
I've added my point-scrapper.

I've been eyeing up that box for a long time now thinking it would be good for the photography comp but I was waiting for a theme like 'out of the ordinary' or 'unexpected'. However, as I'm so stuck for anything this month I've gone with it.

Cheers guys, I wasn't that happy with it TBH!:o

It's a very dead leaf from a bowl of pot pourri shot against a black Netgear router box. All I did was select the black background with the wand tool, average blur it, clone out any remaining dust, invert the selection and burn in the gaps through the leaf. I then duotoned it and played with the levels a bit.

And I know, it's hardly an original take on the subject! :o
 
very nice indeed danza - yes it may not be the most original but it is certainly a impressive capture.
 
Stunning shot HJ - how did you get it? I just tried a similar one and it didn't come out as good

Wow, thanks CBS :) It took an off body flash bouncing off a wall, in a dark corridor to eliminate reflections as much as poss. macro at highest magnification and about 40 shots for one in focus :D

Used a torch to focus and to keep pupils small.

I really like yours, the cam right in the centre just works well :)

i think most are better than mine! we should have the results of a 'view from above' or whatever it is soon shouldn't we?
 
Quite a few people have taken Intricate to mean 'macro' and have produced some amazing shots but it's also great to see that some of you have taken the theme and produced some quite unexpected images - Really well done all of you!

I think I have to call favs on: Dano (always loved the plasma globes), Danza (gorgeous in it's simplicity), Helium-Junkie (always been a sucker for eye shots) and rghjones (loving the post)
