Hello,
I was wondering what albums of PF people like most:

Here's a list of em :
1. The Piper At The Gates of Dawn
2. A Saucerful of Secretes
3. More
4. Ummagummma
5. Atom Heart Mother
6. Meddle
7. Obscured by Clouds
8. The Dark Side Of The Moon
9. Wish You Were Here
10. Animals
11. The Wall
12. The Final Cut
13. A Momentary Lapse of Reason
14. The Division Bell

And now from imo, best to worst :

9. Wish You Were Here (love it)
6. Meddle (love it)
10. Animals (love it)
14. The Division Bell (adore it)
8. The Dark Side Of The Moon ( adore it)
5. Atom Heart Mother (like a lot)
13. A Momentary Lapse of Reason (like a lot)
11. The Wall (like)
12. The Final Cut ( don't like)

I really like all of them, I still quite like the wall but I haven't listened to it enough yet to make a proper judgment, atm I prefer the albums I placed above it more...
I can't listen through The final cut more than twice, worst album of PF I've heard imo.
I like the ''Gilmour'' cd's quite a lot, and I don't really like the Waters orientated songs later on after animals.

3. Music From The Film More
4. Ummagummma
7. Obscured by Clouds
As I've not listened to em :p.
Although I do know some songs like arnold layne and bike from their first album, which I quite like.


So whaddya guys think of PF ?
 
Im ashamed to say I only really know Dark Side and Animals. But I absolutely love both. Kind of on topic, has anyone seen Dream Theaters live DVD covering Dark Side? Really really good covers imo. The other really good cover is Shadows Fall's cover of Welcome to the Machine on The Art of Balance.

I couldn't rank the ones I own. (Meddle, DSOTM, WYWH, Animals, The Wall, The Division Bell) They are all pretty unique and which one I "prefer" really depends on the mood I'm in. I think TDB gets a bit of bad stick, I love the album and it's Gilmour-ish sound.

Gun to head, I'd put DSOTM at the top, but just because it's such a brilliant "overall" album. I always get goosebumps on that last heartbeat at the end of Eclipse if I've listened to the album all the way through. :p
 
Although DSOTM is one of my favourite rock albums of all time, one of my favourite live shows of all time is Pulse, my eyes almost popped out on stalks when I saw the quality of the light show on my friends 52" TV and mega surround setup..

Me too, I like the Gilmour-ish albums and I think I prefer them above the late Waters albums, although it is a bit sameish, I still think it's far better then, eg. the Final cut.
Pink Floyd is the only artist I can listen to all day long, yesterday I listened to PF since I got up ( from 1pm) to 2 am iirc because then I went to watch a film :).
Dsotm is great, but I've listened to it too much and it starts getting boring for me :(, it's still awesome on headphones where you hear the tiny details eg. waters talking in the first and last song but on my normal speakers, I prefer to run 'Animals' or 'Shine On You Crazy Diamond' instead.

The Wall is just awesome. Have you seen the film?

I'd struggle to put them in order because I love Floyd too much. I adore Atom Heart Mother, so many memories.

I agree with the OP - The Final Cut is just annoying.

Oh and if you haven't seen Live in Pompeii 1972, get it. Echoes Part 1 is completely sublime.
