3G dongle for my car PC

As long as you have signal, there's no reason why it shouldn't work. As for your second question, someone in the UK wil have to answer that. :)

should work just fine I think long as you have coverage.

3 seem to be the cheapest atm, offering it on pay and go..£100 of the modem and 10-15 a month depending on what usage you want.

I get the 3gb from them and I only ever use about 1.5-2 and thats with online gaming.

It is unclear if it is against the FUP to buy a 3 skypephone and use it as the 3g modem. A PAYG skypephone was £40 online last time I looked (about a month ago)

You can use any 3G phone that you want to connect to the service, however I wouldn't recommend the Skype phone as its only a 3G phone. If you are using mobile broadband, I'd recommend something that is HSDPA enabled.

The Nokia 6120 Classic is a featured phone which can act as an HSDPA dongle, the only downside is the USB cable can't charge the phone.

3 offer their broadband service on a PAYG basis which might be better for car use. All you need to do is buy a dongle here: http://threestore.three.co.uk/payg/?modem=1 (which is powered through USB)

Then you pay £10 for 1GB, £15 for 3GB or £25 for 7GB of access (this lasts 30 days).

I use the 6120, so if i get the mobile Internet Addon for £5 a month, can i use that for Internet on the PC?

Yep, there is no technical reason for it not to work. :D

Although it *may* be against the terms of the contract to use the £5 addon rather than the £10 one... The £5 addon is really just meant for handset browsing.

I want a USB dongle really for pure internet in my car...so 3 looks like an option.

They seem pricey!

Pricey compared to what, I have a vodafone 3G account and it's £25 a month, 'unlimited' data (though they'll start to moan if you go past a couple of gig). No it's not home broadband cheap but you shouldn't expect it to be.

Yeah.

69.99 seems a lot for a dongle though.

10 quid for 30 dfays PAYG is fine.

£15 a month for vodafone at the purple shirt place.

Vodafone have the largest % of 3g areas than any other company.

(I work there btw :D)

Might be worth a look :)

3G data works perfectly on the move in the same way voice calling does, if you suddenly loose signal then expect to suddenly stop talking/surfing.
