Is your dad scared of your mum ?

*update"

I just phonned him:

ME: hi hows it going?
DAD: Hmmmm

ME: who's talking in the background?
DAD: I'm in Carpet-World Son.

Mother in background: get off the phone fool and choose

:D

Don;t know f it would have been better him there on his own then trying to replace that carpet.

Yes. My dad is petrified of my mum, I think, deep down. He's the quiet, dependable, mature one, she's the screeching, psychotic, over-emotional one.

What can I say? He's male, she's female...

sounds the same here, my parents are the same, and im getting married soon.

luckily my other half works away a fair bit so im safe enough for around 4 months of the year :D

I like to think, that she thinks "she runs the household" but i do really lol. Not sure it works out that way though.

I just told my old man.

He laughed and said "Son, do you remember last year when I brought home the British Blue Kitten and it used the chair your mum bought me 13 years ago as a climbing frame?"

He feels for the op's dad. My mum didnt speak to my old man for nearly 3 weeks apart from the grumble that dinner was ready :D

:D

Hmmm have the kitten or that chair.... I'd have the kitten every time!!!

Its currently on Fleabay for 99p :)

I'm reluctant to take it to the tip for free only to see the thieving little gypsies who work there sell it on for a reasonable profit.

Erm, thats how they make their living? Whats wrong with that, if you take it to the tip it means you dont need or want it anymore, you are throwing it away, seems like fair game for them to sell it on imo.

I'd smash it up then take it to the tip, that wya you get rid of it and no one can make any money from it!!!

Because it's my old mans and the money made belongs to him

Even if it goes for 99p, he can have a box of Teabags :)

I dropped a cig on a carpet at my mums once, she was out and it did not burn right through. The carpet was cream and the burn looked like the one in the picture. I got a scalpel out of my tool box and scraped the burn away gently. It just left a little dent in the carpet, I just brushed up the fibres around the dent and hey presto she never noticed. Admittedly there was not much fibre left where the burn had been but just enough to disguse the base layer under the fibres.

Seriously a whole new carpet for a little burn mark ? How stupid, we truly live in a wasteful society. If he was painting its probably right next to the wall ? Any leftover carpet from installing that one ?

This thread delivers! ..............a new carpet. Sorry couldnt resist its fridya afternoon and i want to go home.
