Ive just ordered a new system with the Cosmos S case, couldnt resist!

However I see you can add 3 LED Fans at the top! http://www.coolermaster.com/products/product.php?act=detail&id=3954

From what Ive read the case comes connected with one already but I think its not LED?

Could someone please point me in the direction where I can get 3 of these LED fans please? Also, will I easily be able to connect them to the power?

And if you could find what I need in Red LED that would be cool! Cheers!

Another question, I plan on getting a Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Platinum Fatal1ty 7.1 Champion Series Sound Card. Would the front mounted drive easily be fitted into this case?

OCUK don't have CM fan's that match the HDD fan that comes with the case, you could google for "Coolermaster Internal Case Fan with RED LED (S12-ER)" to get a match, or try http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=FG-009-AK
not sure if these are 3 or 4 pin but will do the trick though.

re the x-fi, yeah it fits no problem, but as the front grills on the cosmos s are not fully flush with 5.25 bays (they stick out a little more and are pointed), it may look a little sunken.

Thanks for the reply! So the link you provided, those would be good enough would they? I mean to be honest I may not bother, just a thought to be honest! The fan that comes with it isnt an LED fan is it?

With regards to the Sound card, I probably wont bother at first as I beleive the system Im getting has quite good onboard sound! Also, if I do I probably would just get the extreme music or something like that. I highly doubt that I would even notice the difference.

.

the hdd fan has red leds but the sys fan doesnt

the fan's in the link will be fine (as they have the red leds) but are 2000rpm so will be loud if not on a controller. The red led case fan that comes with the case is 1200rpm as are S12-ER(above)

Cheers man! Is it also possible to get a transparent side panel? Im sure Ive seen something like this?

Here it is - http://www.coolermaster.com/products/product.php?act=detail&id=4233 That would be cool, to have the choice? Where do I buy this?

Also with regards to the LED fans, it seems the can be mounted both inside and on top of the case, is this correct?

Sorry for all the questions, I seem to be more interested in the case than the actual system! :D

the side panels were onsale in the european parts shop (http://www.coolermaster.nl/shop/index.php), but cant see it right now (it may have something to do with next months revision of the sidepanel)

re the fans, yeah, you can put them in or on top, (see some pics i took when i got mine) http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showpost.php?p=11392113&postcount=1099

Cool! So do you like it!? I here some negative comments, but I wont be messing around much in the system so I dont think I will encounter any problems. The case looks fantastic!

Shame I didnt wait for the revised case. Have you got the side panel? I guess to be fair its probably not worth getting and pointless in the long run!

Im getting this system by the way - http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=FS-073-OK&groupid=43&catid=1081&subcat=
Not to different to you'rs! How does you'rs perform?

And cheers for all the help by the way!

as nice as the (windowed) side panel is, it would raise my temps through the roof, so im happy with what ive got. its a very good case, but i wish i had known about the revision as it remedy's quite a few of the niggling problems with the current release of the case.

it performs really well, its got very good airflow

re the link above, i think you may have problems closing the side panel with that CPU cooler, not to be too alarmist, but i have a thread over on the CM Europe site as i have a problem closing the side panel whilst the the 200mm fan is attached (http://forum.coolermaster.com/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=10149&p=80571#p80571)

Im sure they changed something after the first 2000 they made but I may be wrong!

Because OCUK are building it I presume if the side panel doesnt close properly they will have to either use a different cooler or at least contact me.

Ill be pretty annoyed if they offer a system which will have a glitch like that.

Anyway, thanks for all the info! Ill be sure to let you know how everything goes, I get it Friday I think!

My computer arrived but unfortunately the right hinge on the front of the case was broken!

Quite annoying really as Im sure you'll know how that would make the case look. Also, if you know how the hinge works you would know that it couldn't have happened during the delivery process. Ive sent a Webnote obviously its unacceptable.

On another note the case Side fan wasn't connected to anything? What does it connect to? The Motherboard or the PSU? Seems strange that they wouldn't connect that part!

ive read that a few times on the coolermaster site (the front door hinge), AFAIK its being replaced with magnets in the revision. The side fan can either connect to the MB via a 3=pin connector or through the four pin molex adaptor that comes with it.

Well I'm ringing them tomorrow to get them to replace it! I sent an email and got a terrible response.

I don't mind if I break it some day but the fact that they have sent it to me like that isn't good enough.

The computer looks so good though! So much room inside! Just a shame I cant use it!

Hey Baked! Could you get me a link for Blue LED fans of the exact size I would need for the top of the case please?

Now I have seen the case I understand that theres a top section, effectively a cage, which they go in! I think it would look pretty cool.

Also, I have seen that the Mobo has 3 places for Auxillary fans, is this where they would be attached, even if they are in the cage and would they be best used for pushing cold air into the case or taking air out?

here ya go, http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=FG-008-AK

re fans, yeah the 3-pins will slot on the mobo headers, if you are fitting the fans at the top, i have mine extracting air, with the 200mm fan and the bottom mounted fan bringing air in.

did you get your door latch fixed?

Sorry to sound stupid but what do you mean my mobo headers? just the 3 things I was on about?

My PC was picked up today and there going to fix it and connect the side fan!

Also, I noticed I had the disc for Vista but it said it was the 32bit software even though I ordered 64bit, so it looks like they have installed the wrong software! Id love to know who does there quality checking.

I have to wait till Wednesday now:mad:

The stange thing is, I showed you the link before of the PC Im getting, but it came with an Akasa PSU, either 850W or 1000W, couldnt tell lol instead of the Corsair 650W which I ordered.

Im pleased about that because 650W didnt seem much given that Im getting a 9800GX2.

Strangely though, the way the PSU is fitted at the bottom, the fan on the PSU is pointing upwards, meaning all of the hot air coming out of the PSU will go straight into the case, does this seem strange to you?

Also, the CPU cooler had loads of room, its quite smallish and the fan blows to the side. Looks cool! The whole system looks pretty cool!

Finally, the ram I got was this - http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MY-104-OC&groupid=701&catid=8&subcat=817

Because its so big they dont fit side by side, i.e. theres 4 slots and there in 1 and 3, does this affect them running in Dual channel?

I just cant wait to use it now! Sorry for all the questions, Im excited! :D

good to see its getting resolved...

the mobo headers are where you would connect the 3-pin fan (most motherboards these days have 4 or 5 of these, as they are connected directly to the MB you can track the fan speed in BIOS, Speedfan or Everest etc)

For vista, You'd have to check with OC, although AFAIK the retail package only comes with 32bit and you need to send away for 64bit, I'd imagine as yours will be OEM that your right and they may have installed the wrong version.

RE the PSU, I dont know much about the one you recieved, however, again you ar right, the fan should be blowing out the bottom of the case, shouldnt be a problem to spin around though.

RE the RAM, for the mem to run in Dual channel, it usually sits in mem slot 1 and 3 or 2 and 4

Cheers, I am seriously beginning to doubt the team who built my PC now. I mean why would they not put the PSU so the fan was going down lol The way it looked at the back Im not sure it can be turned around (the way the power connector was at the back)

Good news about the Memory and Fans though! :D

Thanks again and Ill definitely let you know how it is!

Just noticed, there no way of sending PM's on this forum?
