Boris Johnson is Mayor of London

Just because he didn't have pre-made, scripted answers doesn't make him the total idiot you're making him out to be, it's good to see a more believable type of politician!

All politicians have pre-made, scripted answers.

Some can actually remember them though.

easyrider - you can keep banging that drum all you like, it ain't going to change the result.

:)

Too many lies, wasted cash and bad ideas from Ken for my liking. Not to mention I am not exactly a huge fan of socialism.

Well ask around the city and nobody complains about Ken, maybe they're not huge fans but he didn't stamp on business. Transport is better, crime is down - thats achievements in my book. Boris does the same or better then I'll happily vote for him, I'm all for results instead of partisan bickering...

The vocal minorities have got their way for too long in this country,he is prepared to stand up to them, ok he may not be have the demeanour of someone like Blair but that doesn't make his ideas wrong

Wether his ideas are wrong or not is inmaterial.

He cannot communicate them in a professional matter.

Thats my point.

The media will destroy him.

i watched him on tele the other night and although he comes accross as a bit of a wally he actually speaks some sense

hopefully he will do a good job

As I said in another thread, if he doesn't the conservatives are in trouble at the next election. There won't be any distancing him from Cameron if it all goes wrong and labour will gleefully ask if this is the way people want the entire country run. He's got to deliver now.

It's doubtful he could make that much of a mess of it. He'll have all sorts of advisers and assistants, he's really just a front man. Of course if he does do well it could go the other way and whet people's appetite for a Conservative government.

And your point is?

My point was that you seem so determined to get your point across (which I think might have something to do with the fact that you don't think Boris is the right choice for London mayor, but I'm not sure about that) that you keep repeating it. Over and over. And over. And over. Ad infinitum.

We get it. Your point has been made.

Easyrider normally flounders when confronted. Using his logic does that make him a bumbling idiot as well?

I'm all for Boris.

It quite well could go the other way. I don't know how badly he'd have to screw it up really, failure is quite difficult to quantify in that job. Ken did a lot in 8 years, transport is a lot better than it was (love it or hate it, the congestion charge has been a big change too). I don't think 4 years of no big change will cut it from Boris, he needs big changes and I haven't yet heard of any.
