Boris Johnson is Mayor of London

Well, I think he'll be great on tv in terms of being highly watchable, lol. As for being on tv as the Mayor of London...

As for no one taking him seriously: I've watched some of the televised debates that have been held so far, and it worries me how much laughter Boris draws from the audiences in his inept responses. It literally is like 'Ahahaha, good old Boris, classic'. This is not what I want as my Mayor.

However much I hate some of Ken's policies, I tend to agree with this.

Great news. He might act a bit like a comedian. But he has good policys and he's not scared to stand up and go against the public opinion and say what needs to be said.

He is not an idiot like people make him out to be. I think he will do very well. But only time will do.

I liked his BBC interview a few hours back! :D

The guy's going to go down in history if he manages to enact his policies. Especially the one that's looking into the new airport in the Thames Estuary.

I think it was more people were sick of Kengestion Livingsgone and wanted someone else in, rather than specifically going for Boris.

Well, it was'nt the best choice of candidates but Boris although very likely to balls things up should at least provide some entertainment.

Great news - for New Labour.

If I was a Tory, I'd be *****ing myself now. They've put the clown prince of right wing politics in one of the highest profile jobs in the country a year before a general election. That should give the buffoon just enough time to make sufficient gaffes to give New Labour the ammo they need to help show the country why the Tories are unfit to govern.

I only hope, for the sake of Londoners and the country in general, that he doesn't **** up the preparations for the Olympics and make the country a laughing stock.

Thank god I don't live in London. I love Boris on the tele but I would not want him in a position of authority. Boris for Mayor would make a brilliant spoof documentary, only trouble is its not a spoof.

The vocal minorities have got their way for too long in this country,he is prepared to stand up to them

I wasn't aware that Boris was elected on a "stand up to minorities" platform. Can you give examples of his "stand" against minorities? Has he stated this as a matter of policy?

Which minorities has he said he will be standing up against - and why?

45% turn out, my god.

I think that might actually be a good thing, people realise that if they don't know who to vote for, they are probably too stupid to vote.

Crown prince of right politics?! Ken is about the most caniving and devious left wing politician in this country! Crown prince of the left if you will....and trust me the left isnt all rosy and happy as its advocates like to make out. Yes Boris made some racist gaffes on the record but im sure theyre nothing compared to the anti-capitalist comments made by Ken and his mate Hugo on their little shopping trips together!

On the olympics:
Its not like the olympics are already running over budget and are a mess anyway. And shouldn't the cabinet minister in charge of them have at least something to say about how theyre run. It isnt all down to the mayor.

Is this really the best London could come up with? Hopeless really

I see that they've also voted the BNP member for Dagenham and Barking into the London Assembly.

Compared to this, a vote for Boris is a vote for sanity and good government.
