Football *Spoilers* 3/4/5 May

lol no, but you may want to answer the same question ;)

Well I think we're just going to have to leave it at "I think something, you don't" - otherwise we're just going around in circles.

Oh, and I still don't think the Carrick thing was a penalty.

But I also want to make it clear that I don't think Nani should have stayed on the pitch. He was right to send him off, without question, and I think it should be a couple of games ban to give him the summer to cool off.

I do however think that Neill struck Nani a bit with his head. Regardless of that, he should have gone anyway for the raised arms and playacting (it was pretty weak for a headbutt).

Then again I wish there was a rule where a player could be sent off for stupidity - that way neither could have any complaints! :)

BaZ 1 - 0 Tute :D

So we're point scoring? Grow up.

Here's a question for you Tute, if you thought Neill was also guilty of headbutting did you think Materazzi was guilty of headbutting Zidane? :D

Have you tried headbutting someone with your chest? (That was where Zidane struck him no?)

He's about as arrogant as they come, with little of the ability shown to justify such arrogance.

Oh come now, he clearly has talent, he's just very unpolished. Give him a couple of years of Fergie's tutelage surrounded by his team mates and I think he can develop into an excellent player.

Take a chill pill, he's just messing. It was pretty clear i was being sarcastic though ;)

I am chilled! :p

You try having three weeks off work for nothing (i'd work right now if I could) - i'm stuck in the house all damn day. :( Fed up with it really.

Agree. From what I've seen of him he appears to be very similar to Ronaldo when he first joined United. He's quick, extremely skilful, quite creative and has a wicked shot on him. Compare him to Anderson who seems to be adored by the United fans and he looks a far bigger prospect for the future.

Anderson is adored by United fans as despite being a year or two younger he's already shown more than Nani in almost every aspect. Putting the ball away is about the only thing Nani has over Anderson so far.

Both are prospects for the future, but if I'm guessing at only one being a United regular in 2 or 3 years time, I'd go for Anderson.

Nani is similar to what Ronaldo was- rubbish. In the end it's about end product and Nani very very rarely delivers, just like Ronaldo for a long time, but that comes with age.
Anderson is a very different player been more of an traditional all round midfielder. UTD fans like him because he gets stuck in and wins the ball, but it seems a lot of UTD fans forget that he often loses the ball right after he wins it! Earlier on in the season Mascherano was guilty of the same thing, at least in the games i saw, but has improved in this regard.

lol, never noticed someone said Neill headbutted Nani.

Nice to see people can see the slap now though. Makes me happy to know I wasn't imagining things, BaZ did have me doubting myself :p.

I said this earlier in the season and I'll say it now, Ronaldo was much better when he joined the club at 17/18 than Nani is now at 21, which is worrying. Ronaldo is only 22 now and look where he is. Nani has great pace but an unwillingness to use it to beat people consistently which irks me, he also lacks the dribbling ability of Ronaldo and the calm head when needed to make the important pass or finish a move.

Nani will improve, but his impact in matches isn't as big as Anderson (as mentioned) or even some other players in the squad such as Park who can be relied upon to do the dirty work when the pressure's on. The biggest thing about Nani is his million dollar strike, we've seen it against Tottenham and Middlesbrough where he's scored two goal of the season contenders, but he lacks consistency, even more so than Ronaldo had at the club when he arrived.

I'm hoping for improvements, but to be honest, I don't like the lad and neither do a lot of the Man Utd fans and supporters I know from going to matches. He doesn't really endear himself to fans with his antics and today may even be the final straw for some supporters of the club. What he did today is unforgivable and even more sadly for Nani himself, unforgettable.

Anderson has enough about him to be a United regular next season, and was our first choice CM throughout our strongest period of the season this year.
Owenb mentioned Anderson losing it after he won it? I can only think he imagined it as his short passing game is phenomenal and he has creativity with his long passing. He also has the ability to go past players on both sides, a rare commodity in the Premiership.

Once Anderson scores he'll have the confidence to score more and more goals, he's already mentioned in an interview that he's literally praying for a goal.

I can't believe Nani is getting such a mauling for this really.

Sure, it was a headbutt, and sure, it was a really silly and dirty thing to do.

But the lad still has bags of potential - he just needs to work on his crossing, and most importantly, his ball retention (which has been nothing short of poor). Like Nokkon said, he has a good shot on him, and he's a quick runner as well.

The headbutt is one thing but the reaction after and the timing of the incident made it worse. Could you imagine the reaction had West Ham came back and got a point which cost you the league?
BaZ did have me doubting myself :p
Me?

I didn't even talk about the slap or lack of, which was being argued.

It's probably the reaction that most people don't like, it's just embarrassing to see.

That's fair enough, but as Sir Alex said, I think it's more down to immaturity than the guy just being a dirty player.

So, after today, Giggs or Nani on the left? :D

Personally i'd take Park. :p
