Any chance it's free?

Finally completed GH3 on hard but had to skip Slash and Toms battle. The last battle was pretty easy I thought, seems to give you a lot more space to hit the notes in.

Done 30 songs on expert but stuck on Tenacious D.

I've always said that the GH3 charts are harder, but due to the HOPO system, GH2 is harder overall.

Whats the Hopo system?

I will take a look at those. :)

I played this game so much today I no longer have a left hand I have a claw.

Everyday I get a little better. I play a song and easily 5 star a song I was thinking was going to be impossible for me.

There's about 8 songs on both hero's that I'm a bit off 5* on medium but I've decided from tommorow I'm going to step upto hard and starts working on that. Still not sure whether to stay in my current pattern or move down one fret and stretch for the green.

hammer on, pull off system. :)

Oh yeah Doh! :o

Both GH's now I've managed a 500 streak on medium, today when I finally got one on GH3 I got so excited when the achievement unlocked I ruined the chance to get perfection :D

I'm literally counting the days down now til Rockband and GH Aerosmith.

I even find myself listening to music on the radio and thinking that track would be good in GH :o

Lay down was giving me **** yesterday trying to 5* it. Had one go today and not only did I get 5* I beat my score by 30k. No idea where that extra came from.

Had a day practicing hard today and It's beyond me. I can keep up with the pace just about but the constant moving of my hand does me. I scraped through 8 songs on GH2 and can do 1 on GH3. The rest is just awful, I get in a complete mess.

I wish they had a hard that was still 4 frets but faster ;)

Gonna just make 5 star medium my goal instead.

You can't give up on hard, you just can't!

When I started hard it was a real chore because I couldn't get used to the hand movements at all scraping through some songs with flashing red and failing most on the solos, then practicing the parts of the songs I failed on.

Now though I have finished One on hard and even though I can't beat Lou yet (Grrr!) I have 5* all but tiers 6,7 & 8 on hard. Now playing my way though Expert and stuck on My Name Is Jonas, Tier 4 I believe. My point is you WILL improve by playing more and get used to the hand movements with quicker responses. The way I did it was to plough through GH2 first on hard, when I hit a wall I switched to GH3, then back again when stuck on GH3 (Grr Aerosmith!) and finished GH2 hard career first.

You can do it too!

Keep practising dude :)

Took me about a month to crack the hand movements :(

Hmmm maybe it's worth sticking at it then. I decided not to move down a fret and stretch for green because I cant reach that way either.

I think I will do as you said and keep plugging away on GH2 as it seems slightly easier to me. I just keep thinking if I can just about scrape these early ones I have no chance in the face offs or lower tiers.

Hasn't stopped me loving the game, it's just tough!

Aerosmith is supposed to be easier as is rockband.

Never lock your hand in one position & stretch - it just gets confusing :(

Also take advantage of the 'only higher note is played' stuff.

Talk Dirty to Me is a perfect example on hard:

Code:
     [color=orange]o[/color]
     [color=orange]o[/color]
     [color=orange]o[/color]
    [color=lightblue]o[/color][color=orange]o[/color]
     [color=orange]o[/color]
     [color=orange]o[/color]
     [color=orange]o[/color]
    [color=lightblue]o[/color][color=orange]o[/color]
     [color=orange]o[/color]
     [color=orange]o[/color]
     [color=orange]o[/color]
    [color=lightblue]o[/color][color=orange]o[/color]

That (iirc) is the recurring notes out of the chorus and at the intro/outro

On hard make sure you hold both Blue & Orange buttons down

Litte things like that will make life so much easier rather than trying to drop an extra finger down every 4th note :)

Cheers I need to really practice that and hammer ons as well, I still tend to play 75% of them as normal.

The Mrs has finally started to show an interest in this game so gonna start her off today. So if you see me playign easy it's not me ;)

Lay Down is now my fav GH3 song on medium.

for hammer on practice although widly difficult go to practice mode and stick Cult of Personality on Hard

Hammer on FRENZY!! :D

Plus in practice mode you can't fail :D

Ah right didnt know that, I've never used practice, which is probably somewhat stupid.

I will try that too.

Your starting to give me some hope I may get through this ;)

I'm desperate to make the next LAN to see this game played by the pro's while I sit there tutting :D

I thought the solos in Cult of Personality are some of the easiest in the game, even on hard and expert settings :o

There is no real variance to them which makes it really easy to memorize.
