Im after a mod that replaces all the gfx with high end gfx and high poly cars. Anyone know of any such mod that combines lots of gfx mods or car packs or somit?

Funnily enough i put this on the other day for a blast, im gona try that new great effects one, cheers. :)

Theres an increased draw distance one somewhere as well if i remember, have to hunt it out.

Perfectly timed thread.

Just about to reinstall San Andreas after going through Vice city again a couple of weeks back.

If any of you have tried the 'Great Effects 1.3' mod let me know if it's worth installing, I'll deffo try the 10x draw distance. Thanks for posting it.

Bit weird to install the oblivion grass mod mainly cos i never used imgtool stuff.

I just recently today started adding cars with SAMI it makes replacing models very easy.

I have been getting all the high downloaded models still got ages to go till all stuff is replaced with high poly high texture models tho but so far its paying off the new stuff looks mint ingame. :)

Alci's IMG Editor easier to use than original imgtool :)

Don't use the increased draw distance, although you might want a bigger draw distance due to poor stock one, the 10X one is just bad:

It really messes up how the game looks, you can see grassland from the desert etc and it just doesn't look ''real'' anymore.
It crashes your game about 3/4th up mt. chilliad, it doesn't like high altitutes.
And all you'll see is empty roads etc it juts looks so bad...

2x draw distance this one works bettter :)

I also started playing again as i got stuck on the flight school but with the help of slowmo and a 360 controller i managed to do it after a few tries, man why they ever made it so hard i don't know, i bet that stopped a lot of people progressing in frustration, i stopped because i felt it was a cheek to have to redo it so many times, i don't mind trying a few times but if a task becomes no fun i want to move on.

In vice city i used to love having the delorian bttf car, there must be a good one for SA!? :D

Does anyone here use mods on the Steam version (v3.0) succesfully? I am struggling to find a method to enable SAMI (mod manager) because the Steam version is a different EXE to the original disc version. I have heard talk somewhere of using v1.0 EXEs (not keen on using a noCD exe), but if anyone has any other suggestions how I can use mods with the Steam version I would be very grateful!

Ok thanks, I should have read up on the subject before parting with the cash. No so impressed with Steam now, I will find a way around it :)
