Quietest PSU up to £45 please?

Hi all. Having just installed the Antec Basiq 500W psu I now need earplugs. It's too loud even though it does a good job. So can anyone recommend the quietest and bestest psu for under £45 please? The cheaper the better of course.

Have been checking out the Thermaltake TR range. They seem to be pretty good. And as OCUK sell this manufacturer I assume they're good?

OcUK also used to sell QTec PSUs. They would have suited you well, cheap and very quiet after that has set fire to themselves !


I would read a few reviews about voltage stability and current supply before making my mind up.
 
The higher wattage toughpower range is very good, but they are out of your budget i think. Not heard much about the lower 500w models. I find it amusing when people always dismiss thermaltake stuff as junk, when the 700+ watt range is pretty much identical to many Corsair PSUs. Made by the exact same company.

Corsair,Thermaltake,Gigabyte,Xigmatek, and a few others well now names,do not produce PSU- they bought it from taiwanese and chinese manufacturers:)


that´s why i prefer to buy a " real" chinese made PSU,with great,great quality,and small price, like LCPower are:)

I had 3 LC powers already- never one single problem with any of them
now i´m using the 850W Arkangel from one year,system overclocked completely stable:)

The OEM for the Corsair HX series is Seasonic, which is pretty much a guarantee of decent quality.
 
Never ever Qtec!! sory but i had one and it was a vacumme cleaner in my room! But i got to replace it recently with the 400W enermax pro (modular one thats not sold on overclockers anymore :( ). They get a thumbs up form me
