Football *Spoilers* 3/4/5 May

It'll be a damn shame the if United win the Premiership on goal difference, they should change the rule to have a play-off game at Wembley or something.

Can't see either side not picking up 3pts in their final fixtures.

If Man United win on Goal Difference then so be it. They will have scored more goals than Chelsea and let less in than Chelsea. Maybe Chelsea will bear that in mind next season and play accordingly.

Why would it be a shame?

We'd have scored more goals and let in less and then are surely the better side

Did you know that Man.U have won 1-0 13 times this season in all comps compared to Chelsea's 11, boring *******.

I always wondered why people say it be a shame, surely whoever scores more and concedes less does show they are the better team when equal on points.

Gonna be tense next weekend.:o

Going off goal difference is about the fairest way to decide it should teams finish on equal points. Deciding the league winners in a one off game goes against the whole point of having a league in the first place (although afaik some european leagues do actually use deciding methods other than GD).

As a neutral, really looking forward to it. I do have a slight leaning towards Man Utd (despite hating them as a kid - glory supporters!) because I've enjoyed watching them all season.

If it ends on goal difference, it won't matter - as has been said, all those extra goals in and goals kept out have to be worth something at the end of the day.

Shame?

Those are the rules of the competition in a tie break should teams be level on points at the end of the season.

Mabye a finish this statement in 28 words or less competition should decide the winners of the league:

"I think we deserve to win the league because........"

We arent liverpool here you know, we dont go crying about rules being wrong when we fail to meet the criteria of a competition.

lol atpbx all I ever hear is UTD fans/speakers after matches moan how it was an unfair decision against them. Handball by Carrick for example....

UTD fans = No handball
Everyone else = Handball :P

This is not restricted to just United fans. Personally, I make every effort to be as unbiased as possible, judging any incident on it's own merits regardless of the clubs involved.

Unfortunately, almost every argument will see 90%+ of fans being biased towards their own team, or against a particular team they dislike. But like I said, this is not behaviour restricted to Man U fans, it's fans of every club.

Anyone else seen Keegan's comments today?

I'm not surprised by the score today - wasn't really expecting a win and I'm not denying that what he said is true but it's a bit disheartening to hear it from him.

Panzer

Fair comment really. There's nothing wrong with being optimistic, but it should stay within the bounds of reality unless you want to look stupid.

At least if/when Keegan does come out and say we're getting somewhere it might mean something.

Here's his little rant. He sounds bitter but he's right imo.

LOL Stupid post alert. I almost want to RTM it as it's so stupid.

next weekend is going to be a cracker, going to tell work i'm finishing early (or they can just get a locum in for the day their call but i ain't missing the grandstand finish) I'll be too tense to watch it in the pub so i'll be at home get ss on the go and probably be sat on here on the match day thread.

I think Keegan is spot on really.

The money that the top four have got from constantly being in the top four over the years, the money they have from the owners and the attraction of being in one of the four biggest clubs in the world means that no other team in the Premiership will get a look in if one of the big four come knocking.

There's been three leagues in the premiership for some time now.

Those that are consistently top four, the ones that are always in the top ten and the ones below that are just fighting to stay in it.

And of course it's now effecting the Championship with one or two yoyo clubs starting to appaer.
