Ordered a laptop from Dell (£60 delivery!!!!) on 17/04/08 delivery estimate was 15/05/08. Requested it to be delivered to a work address so that we could be sure someone would be able to pick it up for us.
We were on holiday last week and low and behold it arrives at our home address, so a card gets left asking to arrange for re-delivery/collection. Went to collect on Saturday morning only to find out our parcel had been given to someone else and there's was left in it's place.
Personally I reckon it got nicked as the one that was left behind had a lower model laptop in it with no invoice, manuals or software. That and the box was missing the packing label and had obviously been re-packaged with standard brown tape and not the tamper proof stuff you usually find on dell boxes.
I have emailed Dell a couple of times demanding the delivery charge be refunded as the service had been crapped, both times I have been refused. Not to mention that they can't re-order the laptop again until internal investigations are complete (at least Friday).
So surely I must have some sort of right to claim back this money!
