How come I've just spent two hours getting killed by people who can't even shoot me? Is shooting through walls a viable option in warfare these days?

Now I know why I didn't bother with this cheaters paradise when it was released!
 
To be fair you were probably on a crap server.

But this is the one and only game that actually makes me furious. I suck at it so bad, and i just had to stop playing cause it was making me too angry. :(
 
Just remember that the game was releases in 2004, so your 4 years to late. Most people have been playing that for years. So, your bound to get raped. Before that some of those people played 1.6 for years. So, they have good aim, know all the maps and stuff. All going against you.

It is a good game, especially in matches. You need to find a newbie server.

You considered giving TF2 a go? I converted now I dont get furious, css makes you a hater & want to kill someone.

Most people listen for you running near doors and thin walls etc then they spray where they think you are.
 
yeah gungame is far better. its all i ever seem to play in cs:s these days. makes you work with every gun as well. actually phillyDee are you the same PhillyDee that i know from playing gungame? i havent heard of fireon but were you in other clans previously?

Remember if people know the map well they know which scenery can be shot through and places where people will try to hide etc.
 
CSS is great once you get into it, but it has a very steep learning curve. I played for about 6 months and still couldn't get used to the way it played. Not being able to look down the sights, ultra accuracy from-the-hip (WTF?:confused:), annoying flash bangs, etc. I went back to Call of Duty...:p
 
The CSS spammers strike again... I personally fit into that cat too :)

If you have played CS1.6 or CSS for more than 2years. You will spam everything. I run around prespamming stuff all the time.

CSS will just get better as you get the hang of it. Like people have said gungame is good for practising. Once you get it, your love the game.
 
After a month or two, you tend to know where people will be camping. Like on cs_assault, there is always someone camping above the bottom door at the back.
 
Depends what kind of wall, who would have thought you could shoot through wood :P

Play on a decent clans server and don't play pub..

Best thing I ever got taught on css was how the guns recoil/spray. And how to control it :) Also playing for a few weeks with a usp makes you godlike :D

Not a cheaters paradise, it's just as people have said. If you're new, you WILL die ALL the time, and you wont know where you got shot from:D

Keep at it, it's worth it. It's got more life in it than CoD4, imo. Always end up coming back to it after new games tempt me away for a while.

ive had it since release and its always been on my desktop. its just one of those games.

find a good server maybe even a private server, get on teamspeak with other players and youd probably change your mind about the game.
 
TS definitely improves the gameplay aspect, then you can tell your teammates when u are flashing, HE nading etc. and likewise they do the same.

Either play it that way or just play it with music up loud so you cant hear anything and run around like a loon, often fun when alcohol is involved.
 
This game is all about putting in the hours. Once you are familiar with the maps and where people hide, its easier. Over time you will also realise which walls not to stand next to. The same goes for the floor. People will shoot at the walls and floor in the hope of hitting someone on the other side.

My advice is find a good server(one which has a good admin), and the rest will come over time. It is very competitive though.
