CS:S is supposed to be good?

You can't shoot through walls mate. stop making up stuff. you are just crap and probably you get shot in the back and your too dumb to realize it. you can shoot through wood in css, but that reduces damage a lot.

Your clearly a noob or never play office ;)

Course you can shoot through the thinner walls, noob!

Stop talking down the man, he's just trying to get into the best FPS series EVAR!

i use to play this day in and day out, hour by hour, very good game, can get frustrating keep at it, when you get good you'll soon rake in the "Hakzor" remarks and "Noob cheater" remarks. dont worry. takes time! and patience.

Unfortunately i've now quit :( wish i could go back to it!

a lot of gun game maps. surf maps. deathmap maps ect. there's more to cs than just regular team play:)

Heh if i wanted to dm i would not be play cs (not that i play cs any more) only fun maps i ever got into where the silly vehicle maps (cant remember their actual names) as those were just fun to run each other over :)

As for shooting through things, u could do it a lot more in cs... i though css had it scaled back to pretty much doors and boxes and the like

oh cs Dm is great, tests the reflexes. especially rpg dm, thats just crazy. running around like loonies trying to keep sights on eachother, sometimes taking a whole clip from the m249 just to take one person down:p it makes a fun break from serious team play

agreed ^^

@ OP : Day of Defeat Source is a much better game , but until you get used to the maps and weapons (like any game tbh) it will be fustrating, but ultimately rewarding once you know the ropes

Personally i hate DoD i'd rather shoot my self.

I played it for 3months as somemates started a clan - always came back to CSS

Never liked rpg, and almost all surf servers have it

There are cheaters out there though. What can get annoying is that sometimes you won't know if they are or not. Sometimes I just can't tell if they are but I know something fishy is going on. I've played for a few years now only CS:S online not 1.6. Is ther eany easy way to tell? Can Admins check stuff?

CS:S good points:
- Great gameplay
- Mixed long and short range battles
- Good fun - can be funny
- gun game maps are a laugh
- hours of replay value, rarely gets boring as you can always improve
- realistic-ish
- looks good
- good balance of gameplay over graphics
- team aspect is good
- good feel
- endless maps

Bad stuff
- cheaters
- people that play every day of their life day and night and are just a bit too robotic at it
- team killers and general annoying people
- noobs occasionally can get tedious
- hackers/cheaters
- the AWP gun (one shot kill anywhere on the body 90% of the time)
- Admins that get jealous of your skill and ban/kick you from servers
- youg players that get too frustrated by it
- wallbangers
- campers
- people that adjust their rates to be hard to hit

Back in the day I used to do a little CS 1.6 pwnage, with my Uber 56k modem - no-one could hit me cos i was still in last week!!

Seriously though, that sounds like server admin slapdown - possibly for wrong/default rates, or some other naff reason!

Try some normal looking public servers, play the 'proper' maps so you cant be shot at start and see how that works (avoiding dust2 as T of course!)
