Hello,

My old case (Chieftec Dragon) is not cutting the mustard in the cooling department and I've been looking at the Antec 900.

System specs

Corsair HX620 Modular PSU
Asus P5NE-SLI motherboard
Core2Quad
8800GTX.

I'm sure all the componants will fit in it, the main thing that I'm worried about it the PSU leads not reaching the required places, as I understand that the PSU sits at the bottom of the case. Really worried that the four pin PSU power connector will not reach.

Does anyone have the Antec 900, the Cosrair PSU and an Asus P5NE-SLi that can maybe confirm to me that everything will reach. Or am I looking at extending the PSU leads?

Thanks in advance

I used the Corsair in a 900, and the cables reach, but you would be better off with some extenders so you can route it around the motherboard.

i have the Antec 900, and i ordered extensions for both the 24-pin and the 8-pin PSU leads. the 24-pin i found to be perfectly long enough as it was, but i used the 8-pin extension to route the cable through the back of the case for the sake of cable management. it would also be a stretch with the 8800gtx in the way. i would suggest ordering the Akasa 8-pin PSU extension, as i dont think you'll need the 24-pin tbh. ;)

ay i agree with Shadow, you should get a 8pin extension for cable management and the gtx should fit fine but you'll probably have to mount the HDD in the lower set of trays and remove the extra option fan holder to make it fit as mine is pretty close with the GTS :) i might buy a 24 pin extension just to do some extra cable management when i cut some holes in the back plate like several people have demonstrated on here.
and good choice with the modular.... u'll need it :D

yes it is. but like i said, you will more than likely only need the 8-pin extension unless your making new holes in the case for cable management for the 24-pin, but saying that my 24-pin is more than long enough as standard. i think you'll be safe with the 8-pin in this case honestly mate. ;)

EDIT:

found an image of my setup, just before i finished the cable management obviously ;) and as you can see the extension gets your 8-pin from the exit hole in the case (just next to the 24-pin connector) around to the 8-pin connector.

NB. i recommend removing the optional fan holder in the centre drive rack as sasso said as my 8800gtx just fits in now, as my motherboard prefers GFX cards to be in the PCI-e no.1 slot at the top.

I have the P5N32E-SLI Motherboard and a Silverstone ST600F PSU , I used a dremel and didnt need any extenders to get the cables to fit.

Looks Nice and roomy inside as well :)

Oh Yeah , and an EVGA 8800GTS 640Mb which fits fine , just had to remove the internal fan mount off the back of the hard drive bay ;)

i guess it all depends on the length of your 8-pin connector. ;) as mine would reach but not by going through the case holes for cable management. but that is the only extension that you would possibly need. ;) think i might invest in a new modular PSU, as you can see i have cables just hanging round and i want to get it neater.

*off-topic* thats the same mobo i used to have morpheus, infact i still have it with my old case just collecting dust. maybe make it into an OC pc for messing around. ;)

With the new 1404 bios its a much more stable board , i have had my e6600 running at 3.6Ghz quite happy with temps topping 48c and prime stable. Before the new bios i was lucky to get 3.2Ghz.

Plus seeing a few leads and wires is good, cos like with mmorpheus1 case it looks too empty, if that makes sense?

Great Airflow through my case though , only need fans on low and cpu never goes above 45C full load , and now theres a Asus Formula Rampage in there with A Q6600 running at 3.6Gh :p
