Just got back from sports soccer or sports world and feeling very angry.
On Monday I go in the shop 2 minutes before closing and ask for a pair of ‘Addais samabs’ size 12, the shop assistant goes around the back and gets the shoes in a 12. She asks do i want to try them on, i reply no as I’m already wearing a pair of size 12’s. She takes them to the till with me and i pay another shop assistant, i go home all warm and happy.
On Wednesday I go to wear my new shoes for football only to find they don’t quite fit under closer inspection I see they are size 11. I’m annoyed but no hardship. So today I return them and ask to swap for a 12. I’m told they don’t stock a 12 and can’t order them in even though they sell 12’s on their web site. I’m disappointed but again no real big deal. I ask for a refund only to be told I can only have a credit note! I state my cause saying if the shop cannot get me a size 12 then a credit note is useless to be as I’m not into the whole sports clothing style. The attendant won’t bunch i then go through the whole thing again with the ‘floor manger’ and then believe it or not the ‘shoe manger’

I feel utterly conned and violated. They refused to give me a refund and the store manger was doing interviews. I took the shoes back and will no plan my next move.

So if anyone has any knowledge about my rights and wants to offer a hand i would be very grateful.

They say i should have tried them on, but when I’m wearing a pair of identical shoes in a 12 why would i ?

i would go back and try again! did you pay by credit card as they might be able to help

also phone your local trading standards and ask them where you stand!

as you have not worn them? i cannot see why they would not give you a refund

i presume by not refunding you they have lost a customer

I'm no expert but you asked for 12s and you were given 11s, I'd say that was being missold and you'd be entitled to a refund.
Taking it up with citizens advice or trading standards would probably be best though. :)

This shop has the worst return policy in England. No manager will budge, your best off ringing Trading Standards.

I can't believe you left the store without getting your money back, in a situation like that there's no way I would.

i had 4 of them there and gave it some welly! they just kept saying they could not do it, and were not allowed too.

You didn’t check to see what size you had being given? That’s daft you should have checked.

no cos i asked for a 12, she then took the box around to the til. You have to have a little trust and faith

A credit note is a refund though, just not a useful one....i am not a lawyer though so....

they have nothing else i would want or need plus, i don't want to spend in that shop. With there 'credit note system' they must make soooooo much money as no one ever gets there money back from the store once they buy something.

they don't have a legal obligation to refund you in cash afaik in this case
it's really your own fault anyway for
1) not trying them on, and
2) not even opening the box and checking the size..

it's not "unfit for purpose" at all
you bought some shoes without checking what size they were!

He went into a shoe shop, asked a shoe assistant to get him a pair of shoes in 12 (a larger than avarge size quite hard to forget) he should not have to check.

It’s your fault tbh, you should have checked the contents of the box prior to leaving the store, and as mentioned above you should have tried them on. Next time dont rush! :D

have you tried a different store? You could wait and see if they get some more in, if not maybe sell it to a relative or a local chav?? :P

So basically you are shopping blind? This is asking for trouble always check what you have bought prior to paying or leaving the store as problems like this arise.

would you try a pair of shoes on, if they were the same as the ones you were standing in? seems crazy to me.
