Volunteers needed to die for art

The key word is "volunteer", but anyone willing to watch someone die, do nothing and with such a silly cause like this one.... Sick.

I don't see a problem with this? Yeah ok, the dog one was pretty bad.

At least in this case it's the dieing individuals choice and right to choose.

It has to be someone who has a lot in common with Schneider and who understands his intentions, the artist told the newspaper.

"The dying person would arrange everything beforehand. He will be the focus. Everything will happen with the agreement of relatives. It would be a private atmosphere with rules about visitors," he said.

So it would be a moment captured, of someone who is already dying, and their last moments. With the permission of the individual and the family, in a good environment?

Ok, so to some people it might seem wrong, but if the individual is happy then what's the problem?

There are drawings showing birth, the creation of life... why not a picture/painting of the last breaths? Freedom of expression. If someone volunteers fair enough, its the persons choice.

How is it illegal? Some people need to open their eyes.

Art can be repulsive, it can shock, it can show new ideas or parts of life that people haven't expressed in art before.

Art
1 the making of objects, images, music, etc. that are beautiful or that express feelings.

4 [C] an activity through which people express particular ideas

Why are people still bitching about the dog thing? It was fed whilst on display for gods sake... Anyway, this is pretty extreme to say the least.

Technically it doesn't say that the person has to already be dying, I'm not sure where he plans to hold the exhibition but there could be issues with suicide or euthanasia depending on the country if they aren't already dying.

I'm really not convinced that you can have a private atmosphere in an art gallery or that it is a particularly good environment to die in but provided the individual is making an informed choice then who am I to question their right to do so. The idea sounds like a load of toss to me but if you want to call this art then you have the benefit of all my doubts (lightly paraphrased from Charles Rosin).
