games for 4GB Eee PC XP

Hey guys, I've just recently upgraded my Eee PC to windows XP with 2GB RAM and was wondering if anyone could recommend some good/preferably free games that I can stick on it. I've got a long train journey this afternoon and also will only have the built in mouse pad, so something I can play with just the keys would be great

Do you have a usb thumb drive to stick on it too? 4GB won't get you very far

What kind of games do you prefer? FPS, RTS, BSOD, etc?

Well I prefer FPS and RTS but how well I could play 1 of those without a mouse is debatable. was thinking of some kind of racer or perhaps arcadey type games so I could play easily with just the keyboard.

StarCraft would probably work quite well on it...and be just about playable without a mouse..maybe :S

How about an amiga emulator with some random games?

various roms are always good.

I have warcraft 3 and quake 3 running on mine, and a very similar set up to your, 2gb ram, 8gb sd card. it might be worth getting a cheapy usb optical mouse, just for playing, as its not an awful lot more room to take up.

how about the civ games?

I only skimmed over the page of it, but the latest edition of PC Gamer talks about modding the Eee PC to get games such as WoW, LOTRO etc playable on it. Also, the current Custom PC magazine has a fair old guide on modding the Eee PC too.

Trackmania nations is free and doesn't need a mouse. Is better with internet though.

read both . and they are good guides. but i dont know if id recommend someone doing it.

The last two work reasonably well on the eee. I think people have got the first two to run..but not particularly well.
