Hi guys, just wondered if anyone else out there was in the same situation as I have found myself in today???

About a week ago it rained overnight and all the cars in the area got covered in a dirty sandy rain which wasnt a bit problem for me as the car needed cleaning anyway!

Last night it was a fine evening and perfect for cleaning the car, no direct sunshine but warm! Great, so i spent 2hrs getting it looking great inside and out! I thought as its been so nice for the past few days I could appreciate a clean car for a few days to come, it seems someone had other ideas and decided to give us another short sharp shower of dirty rain so the car is back almost to square one minus brake dust on the wheel!

Anyone else been caught out by this dirty rain and know whats causing it too???

Ye same, i got caught out.

I did hear it was sand blown across from sahara but i refused to believe it

yeah, had it around in the northwest too. think its just sand caught in the air - and then when it rains it brings it out.

Yep, spent about 3 hours blinging the car inside and out. Next day after a short drive and some rain it has left lovely dirt spots everywhere.

One of the lower parts on the door looks clean though so I will admire that for now ^_^

Yeah someone at work said this too! Makes sense I suppose as this warm weather is being helped along by southerly winds!

Same here too, cleaned the TT two days ago and since then it has been parked up in Birmingham airport - came back today covered in sand.

that's exactly what my neighbor told me when he looked at it, he knows a lot about this kind of thing so i took his word for it... the only other thing i can think of is pollen.

It's damn annoying though! all the cars on my drive were spotless and now they're covered.

oh well :) more to wash

Had it here in London as well...just had my car washed and waxed then dirty rain ruins everything along with a ton of bird poop :(...

Yeah - had it here in Hampshire last weekend, read the sahara thing on the BBC news website so sounds feasible..had a little bit last night as well

Soon came off with some quick detailer though..

I got one of those car dusters with wooden handle last year for the dust and pollen, haven't tried it yet, would feel a bit of a plonker dusting the car down !

CHOCOLATE RAAAAIN!

LANDS ON YOUR CAR AND YOU FEEL THE PAAAIN!

Those dusters are meant to do the trick for pollen and dust as long as your car is waxed and smooth I believe.

Mine is covered in dirty rain drops too, gonna wash and wax over the weekend

I remember getting the old sand-rain when I lived in Nice, and the first time I saw it I thought it was the apocalypse as the sky was red and reddy water was falling from the sky. And it was 7am in the morning, so I had no rational thought :p
