Should i buy GTA IV for PS3 or Xbox360 ???

If you'd have ask this at release apparently you should have got the PS3 version due to "superior graphics" but now that the 360 has shown to be graphically superior it's "graphics don't matter".

Every other site said PS3 and then Eurogamer came out with the stats proving the 360 version is the better choice.

Doesn't really matter which version you get, the both have slight technical faults and it isn't going to change your experience of the game in any way.

If you can't decide between the hardware, controller and your friends list then I think your better getting the 360 version (according to Eurogamer, which seemed about right).
 
The PS3 version is better.

I have it. It has a smaller box, therefore saving on shelf space. ;)

Isn't blocking the vents like that a bad idea given the 360's slight, uh, heating disposition?

I'd say get it for the 360, but only because owning a 360 makes me extraordinarily biased. Currently I own neither version of GTAIV, but from what I hear they're both practically the same, get whichever one you can get cheapest. :P

Just a few improvements
1. Try and isolate the 360 on that glass shelf, it'll amplify some of the DVD vibration as noise, my SKY HD box is unbearably loud, some acoustic feet sorted that out, as well as my 360..
2. Take the keyboard off the top of it, it's blocking two sets of vents..

On the GTA IV front, if you only have a PS3, get it on that, vice versa with the 360, but having both consoles, and with everything else being as equal as it is, the 360 DLC surely is the deal breaker?
Graphically most comparisons on the actual retail game all point to the 360 when everything is taken into account, there are plus and minuses on both platforms, but one has less foibles then the other..

I think a lot of people with both consoles reassure their PS3 GTA purchase with some odd qualifying statements such as
- "I didn't get the 360 version because the 360 console is too loud", well in that case just sell the sodding 360, clearly you can't play any games on it and games is it's biggest strength, so why the hell do you own a 360? you can steady your wobbly chair with a phone book..

The ps3 box is nicer though I do like those blu ray cases and I can't stand the colour green
 
Depends which chances you want to take, if you have a Ver1 Xbox you risk RROD, if you have a PS3 you risk constant freezing, crashing and non working multiplayer.
 
I bought GTA IV on PS3 on its launch day. But I got a 360 elite yesterday and I wish I got it on that now. I prefer my elite, the online is so much better its not actually funny.
 
Is the 360's extra content free, or will you have to pay for it on marketplace?

My brothers already got it on the PS3 so i'll just use that, but might rent the 360 version if the extra content is free.
 
no one knows yet, ms said rockstar can charge for it if they want, howver given that the extra episodes will contain around 10 hours of storyline gameplay each I doubt they'll be free.

MS paid a lot of money for it, I would be very very very shocked if it ends up being released for free.
