Step 1: Open Winamp, enqueue your entire NIN folder.
Step 2: Hit Ctrl-K to open plugin selection.
Step 3: Click "DSP/Effect" on the left-hand menu.
Step 4: Highlight "Nullsoft Signal Processing Studio," click "Configure Active Plug-in" at the bottom of the window.
Step 5: Click "Load" on the NSPS control window.
Step 6: Load preset "justin - stupid stereo voice removal.sps"
Step 7: Move slider position to "wet" at top, click "Enable Processing."
Step 8: Choose Your Destiny
It affects the mix of the song you're listening to by removing the center channel and mixing whatever's left in the right and left channels to center mono. It cuts out everything you're used to hearing front-and-center in a song and lets you focus on the hidden bits. It's perfect for The Fragile, so I recommend starting there. I love it on "Just Like You Imagined." You can hear the rest of Mike Garson's piano solo freakout.
Oh yeah, and it has the tendency to make lossy compression sound really ****ty. Forewarned is forearmed.
Shamelessly stolen off SA, it's too cool not to post:

Thanks for the heads up regarding this matter. The corrected files are now posted on our site and if you re-download them they will be the correct ones.
What happened? We mastered this on Friday (5/2) and released it Sunday night. The files went right from mastering to the server without the proper scrutiny (aside from a cursory listen for errors). The last two songs were different because they were redone due to an audible error we did find.
Bottom line: some sort of mastering shenanigans took place.
In addition, there are now 24/96 FLAC files as well as wave files.
BTW, the record was recorded at 24/96 using a Lavry AD122-96MKIII, Antelope's Isochrone OCX clock and mixed in analog through the SSL AWS 900+. We mixed back into Pro Tools through the Lavry as well as a separate rig running at 24/192 using Apogee A/D. The mixes we chose varied song to song based on what sounded best to us.

Thanks for the heads up, I'll be getting the new flacs.update for anybody interested in the 24/96 mix
